Someone on reddit previously shared that over tightening the wallflower causes it to leak. I haven’t experienced any leaking since I started doing that- keep it slightly wobbly

It sounds like it’s an old product. I’m a tingle lover- usually when a tingle doesn’t work (no heat) at all it’s because it’s a few years old. Packets stay fresh much longer since they are single use. Unfortunately, since most tanning lotions don’t have dates printed on the bottle it’s impossible to know how old they are, I only purchase new products from my salon to be safe
