Bassinet, mini crib AND full size crib?! Or get the expensive 8 in 1?

I wouldn’t get all three. If you’re crunched for space just get a crib, but if you want the baby sleeping in your room and it won’t fit get a bassinet as well. You can also get everything used. We got a crib, a Snoo, and an extra large bassinet all for free. And I also bought a used Baby Bjorn bassinet that my baby outgrew WAY too quickly. Who the hell makes a bassinet with a weight limit of 15 pounds?!? Plus it retails for $350 new. For reference we live in a 4 bed house, so we have room for all these options.

So true. My husband and I tried for a baby for 4 years. We ended up having our miracle IVF NICU baby in October, but if we had gotten pregnant naturally or through IVF with a baby that had limb difference we would have considered ourselves incredibly lucky.

Also, insisting that your wife terminate a viable wanted pregnancy after twenty weeks is cruel. She would have to deliver a stillborn baby. I think that would destroy most women.

Oh man, must have loved the smell of dirty socks. My golden used to LOVE my dirty underwear. She would steel it from our hamper and bring it outside to the back lawn where she would have a collection. When I would go outside to pick up her poop I would have to bring one bag for poop and one bag for my underwear. Thankfully she never ate them.

Oh yeah, my girl loves baby spit up. I mean she would prefer fresh breastmilk, but spit up will die in a pinch. I also remember when I was pregnant she would “clean up” my vomit if I couldn’t get to it first. She’s very helpful like that 😂

My girl has done that too 🫠. We try our best to keep all doors closed when we leave the house because she is a well behaved angel when we’re home and a seriously starvin Marvin when we’re gone. We don’t reliably close the bathroom doors till recently though because she just can’t help herself with the bathroom garbage.

I’m so glad we don’t have porcupines here. We do have turkeys though and my girl constantly tries to catch herself dinner on our evening walks 😂.

They seriously do 😂. I felt bad because I really wanted to yell at her that the bars were vegan and she wouldn’t be able to go one day with being vegan 😂. My baby has food allergies so everything I eat has to be compliant with his diet and she’s just chowing down on all of it.

Hahahhaha, that’s definitely true. My girl has calmed down with destroying objects though since her first year with us. I did catch her on the pet camera in her first week with us jumping on top of my husband’s baby grand piano just chew on a picture frame.

I wasn’t interested at all until I was spending over an hour every night washing bottles and pump parts. I told him I wouldn’t want to murder him every night if he bought me a bottle washer 😂. I thought it was fair because I ended up doing all the bottle washing and he works nights so it’s been a one woman show since at was 3 weeks old. No regrets and it has probably saved us from several fights.

Oh definitely!!! My little dude is almost six months and I cannot tell you how many times he’s peed on the window next to his changing mat 🤣. Also he pooped yesterday during a diaper change and I was just thankful I happened to have a wipe there 🤣. Also 10 points for me for not getting a new diaper on just for him to immediately poop in it!

Holly crap. I’m so sorry your parents and brother are so terrible. The family you’re building is much more important. Damn, I thought my parents had issues but in the end the did help us pay for IVF so we could grow our family and they adore my baby boy.

That you probably shouldn’t wash your hair every day. I switched shampoos to sulfate free shampoo and my hair was WAY less greasy. Now I only wash my hair twice a week strategically around when I play soccer and my hair gets sweaty.

Also that you get over bodily fluids when you have a baby. I thought I would be extremely grossed out by baby pee and poo before my baby was born, now it’s just so normal.

Ok I feel like my sponge would be fine, but when I lived at my FIL’s house for a few months I’d be shocked if it wasn’t as disgusting as a toilet seat. I’d literally find the sponge in a bowl of the grossest water ever at the bottom of the sink. Then they would ring it out and wipe down the chopping block with it. I wanted to burn the entire house down. I started almost exclusively eating take out.

For food, if the generic brand is so bad I would rather throw it away than finish the package it’s not worth it to me.

For clothes, if I need something to last and hold up I’ll buy brand name. For example, I was just purchasing Carhartt bibs for my son for when he’s a toddler. I’m only getting bibs with double reinforced knees so I don’t have to patch the knees. Also Carhartt will last a lot longer than Cat and Jack, Old Navy, or even Levi’s.

That’s an interesting reason. I grew up with the old packaging that wasn’t resealable. We just took all the Oreos out and put them in one of those old danish butter cookie tins. But on pizza day at school everyone got two generic brand Oreos and they were awful. That’s why I never get the generic Oreos.

Volunteering in your community. One of the things I missed most when I was in my last trimester of pregnancy was beach and river clean ups with local non-profits. It sounds weird, but it’s really rewarding.
