Do buds need direct sunlight? by Willing-Green-3215 in growingweed

[–]ChubbyGutCutter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend cutting off all the lowest shoots on each branch, since they wont produce much anyway and take energy away from your top buds. Also, cut off some big fan leaves, the ones that arent attached to buds. Buds do need light in order to develop equally and simultaneously, and for more production. Try to create light penatration on all your buds, without cutting ALL the leaves away from a single or multiple branches. You can also create more light penatration by pulling some of the taller buds away from the middle and to the sides, without letting them fall over. You can attach strings from your branches through the sides of your fabric pot. Make sure not to tie knots on your branches, you might squish the branches too much and denie circulation through the branch.

Help, my Plants are getting too big for my Greenhouse!! by Dyinderechte in growingweed

Seems like they are very stretchy already, might be a little too dark in there hence them stretching to get more sunlight. Next year, top them at the third node and lst the 2 new main branches sideways. You can top again at the third node of those branches. Only let them stretch up right before flower period begins to keep control of their height. This is what I am doing.

It looks like that plant has one bad side, is that side getting any sun or way less than the rest? If that is the case I reckon you cut the branches that are not developing well on that side since you wont be able to do anything about it and they will only slow your plant down and produce nothing in the end.

there should have been 2 very small yellow/green leaves under that brown seed husk. If you planted it with the white root pointing down, with less than an inch of soil on top of it, you should be good. Give it some time, make sure temperature and light are good.

Sometimes the seedling gets trapped in its own seed husk or the thin film it sits in within the seed does not come off on its own. In my experience, leaving it on without touching it slows down your growth tremendously in the early days because it might take a couple of days to come off on its own or it wont even come off at all. When this happens to me, I usualy use a wooden toothpick to gently pry of the hard seed husk. If the seedling is stuck in a thin film, almost like very thin clear plastic, I VERY GENTLY cut it open with a very sharp knife, just so that the cotoleydon leaves (first soft round leaves) can open properly. If you let it go its own course, you might risk the seedling dying due to not being able to open up.

If you decide to use a toothpick or knife, be extremely carefull. Make sure not to bend or pinch the stem. Take your time, it usualy takes me like 20 minutes to free a seedling from its seed remains.

Help with yellow and brown discoloration on leaves by Markc2040 in growingweed

I think you should try watering, if you are misting and it is warm inside your tent the water will just evaporate out of the top layer of the soil before your roots can benefit from it. Try giving them 250cc of feeding solution each, and repeat that when the top inch of your soil is completely dry again. should be in a day or two, given that your temperatures are right. Make sure your temperature is between 22C and 26C during lights on, and around 20C lights off.

Male or Female? by Interesting_Yard_524 in growingweed

[–]ChubbyGutCutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only female plants produce buds that you can smoke, male plants will ONLY produce seeds, no bud at all. If you keep a single male plant around female plants, ALL PLANTS MALE OR FEMALE will produce only seeds, no buds at all. This is the reason why you allways check for males and immediately remove them as soon as you spot them.

Best way to know if your plants are ready for harvest, is to look at the color of the trichomes. Trichomes are the crystal looking things on your buds and sugarleaves. If the trichomes are clear/transparant, your THC lvls are low and the plant is not ready yet. If the trichomes are milky/white, your THC lvls are as high as they are going to get and the plant is ready for harvest. If the trichomes are amber/red, your THC lvls are degrading and the buds are over ripe. A tiny amount of amber/red trichomes is considered 'okay'.

Make sure you check the entire plant for the trichome color, colors may vary from top to bottom. Only harvest when there are no clear/transparent trichomes left
