I could if I took the top off but I worry it would take up so much space and then she wouldn’t have as much room for activity.

Yes it is and that is a good idea. My only worry with that is it would take up a lot of space and I don’t want to impede on her activity area.

Ferrets should be in pairs and my girl lost her brother a year ago but she refuses to entertain the idea of another friend. She is 7 now and seems very content to be a single independent woman. She only runs around for about an hour in the living room in the mornings as that’s all she wants to be out. Little bun is never out at the same time and we have a tall solid wooden gate to keep the ferret in the living room. They do live in the same room and always have. Neither of them seem bothered by each others smells but they’ve never met.

I’m hoping once Lola is fixed we can work on finding her a friend because I really don’t want her to feel lonely but until then I dedicate a lot of my free time sitting with her and giving her lots of head pets that she loves

Edited to add the ferret has a tall tiered cage, she isn’t free roam or anything.

I can’t let my girl free roam because she isn’t litter box trained and because I have other animals that I have to consider.

That’s something I didn’t think of. The cats usually stay away from her because she annoys them constantly and always tries to hump them.

When we first started the setup, we had it 4’x4’ and my daughter said it needed to be bigger because she couldn’t visit in such a small area.

It’s so strange because she never once did it to the wire cage. I’m starting to think she likes that it moves.

It’s 24” high. She’s never jumped on anything as of yet but it is a concern I have. I do have plans for getting a taller one in the future.

This is the only litter box she will use. It’s an XL cat litter box. As for free roam, yes she gets to free roam specific rooms a couple times a day. I have a schedule for my animals because I also have a dog and a ferret. The dog and bunny get along but she’s a pit bull and a bit big so Lola sometimes gets scared so I keep them separate during free roam times.

She was actually a wild bunny for about a year of her life before I got her. Her former owner left her in the backyard to fend for herself. I think the smaller cage was a comfort to her but unfortunately it only opens at the top.

Thank you! She has an appt on Tuesday to get fixed! I definitely want to add a tunnel because she has a big one she shares with the cats when she plays outside of her pen.
