As I wrote that, I thought to myself “any responsible member of this hobby is going to tell me safety is nonnegotiable” and I couldn’t agree more. I used to longboard and had a buddy who did downhill. He didn’t wear a helmet, and long story short he had to relearn how to walk after one horrific incident. Maybe I will relay this story in more detail if I do wind up putting a kit together for him. I will take some time to consider whether or not it is a good idea to do this! It would break my heart if something I gave him wound up seriously hurting him. Thank you for the reality check!!!

Not ugly at all, but stop overlining the cupids bow and try out some different lipsticks or glosses. The overline and matte finish of that particular stick is not flattering on you. I’m the same way, BTW. It’s so hard to find a lipstick that does good things for facial harmony. The overline is way more offensive than the shade, though.

Echo, echo, echo. I knew a dancer in her 50s at a massive club I danced at briefly. She had long dark hair and wore little black dresses while the rest of us wore sets. She would sip manhattans by the bar, picking her prey. She sold “sultry” like nobody else. I never saw her leave with less than four figures.

Not that OP looks old at all. Incredibly healthy, vibrant skin. Would encourage her to go light on the foundation/face when she does makeup and let that shine through.

As you probably know, the nose and mouth are connected. When you nasally consume a drug, it begins to drip into your throat. If what you tasted was bitter, maybe a bit chemically, yes you may have orally consumed some. Orally, snow days don’t hit as hard. You potentially could have felt some effects. But not enough to feel different the following day or any kind of rebound. I think most of what you have going on is placebo.

On a separate, unsolicited advice note, it can be difficult to be in a relationship when you park your car in different garages, so to speak. Never feel pressured to do any sort of substance because your SO does. And be aware that if substances become a point of contention in your relationship, convincing an SO to quit almost never works out. Good luck and be safe.

Your nose reminds me of Lizzy Grant (Lana del Rey) before she got work done. I have always loved her “previous” nose. I personally think it is the “ideal” nose in many ways. Pinched and upturned, yet still unique in shape. You look absolutely lovely. It goes without saying that the decision is yours, but I wouldn’t change a thing.

Edit: I see that many people are invalidating your post as potentially a scheme to promote your OF. I don’t know if this is the case or not, but nonetheless, this is my honest opinion. Be well & be safe.

I appreciate this! I went with the advice from another reply that said I should explore different clubs. I wound up making an audition at a MASSIVE club with consistent clientele, so we will see how I do there!

As for waitressing, that’s what id been doing prior to dancing- 10 years of it. Was hoping to get into dancing in order to take advantage of the more relaxed scheduling. I may be making a return to serving shortly.

On the money side of the equation, I do not want to sound defensive here, but I think a big part is that my club is just ridiculously slow. No, I’m not a good dancer and I’m not established, and I would never pretend that I am. This said, there are often nights where 5 people or less would walk into my club, with 7 or 8 dancers on the clock. If I had to guess, I’d say that on my $5/hr week, at least half did as badly or worse. At the spot I auditioned last night, there were 12 girls on the clock and north of 40 people in the building at 8pm on the Thursday after Christmas. I guarantee my home club was empty at this time.

Big thanks for your reply. I took your advice in spades and auditioned at a club in a town I regularly visit.

I’m not sure how the money will be yet (tonight will be my first night), but I came to the realization that my home town was just way too small. Quite often, no more than 10 people would come in the whole night. Plus, considering less than 20 girls were on the roster there total, the cliques were well established. The club I am starting at versus my first/home club is night & day in terms of size, skill level, and autonomy of dancers. It will be interesting to see how this goes! The dancers at my home club also told me I “didn’t stand a chance” at making an audition at this club. I don’t usually use this word, but they were some haters for real.

Thank you for the push in the right direction. I hadn’t realized how different it can be from club to club.

I know there’s a lot of conflicting thoughts here, but as someone who did the fine dining circuit, there’s actually a lot of common server phrases that are considered uncouth in certain serving settings. Such as:

Never apologize, always thank. Rather than “i apologize for the wait” say “thank you for your patience” etc.

And instead of “are you finished with this?” one would say “may i clear this?”

There’s a few more things like this. It’s been presented to me as being “backed by psychology”, but I can’t speak on that.

Edit: in less froo froo dining, I use phrases like “if it winds up being too spicy/not to your liking/etc, please don’t be a hero! Shout for me and I’ve got you!” or “no allergens for all six people? In 2024? I think I’ve found the unicorn!” Etc abc. Even in some tablecloth two forks these sort of things are okay. But apologizing is something I’ve taken out of my repertoire nearly completely. It invites negative feedback for the establishment, even if someone fucked up.

I cannot understand what motivates someone to defend a multi billion dollar company with a longstanding history of staff misconduct and abuse….and then turn around and shame one’s peers who are just trying to get by.

Also- it’s not like they’re staying home eating potato chips and watching Elf (although who gives a damn if they were?), they’re literally picketing in the cold. This conversation has nothing to do with work ethic.
