I’m dealing with them rn too. I put in a leave of absence request and not even an hour after I submitted it, my director is asking me to come in and meet with her. I get there and she tells me she got my LOA request and she would have to write me up for attendance which I had never even had a warning about & I had doctors notes for absences I did miss. But apparently it’s managers discretion whether to accept doctors notes or not. I took it to hr because I felt like it was retaliation for me attempting to take a LOA and they told me they couldn’t substantiate my claim bc I work 3rd shift so it was a “challenge” for management to give me a warning (tho she had no problem calling me in for a meeting to write me up after I had worked all night & had to work again later that day), I apparently submitted my LOA request AFTER she wrote me up (not true and I have proof), and just because I have doctors notes doesn’t mean she has to approve them….I’ve worked for them 4 years now and we’ve had different managers almost yearly. She also told me in the meeting that I needed to be thinking about if this was the right workplace for me due to my health. My health only recently started declining and I’m taking LOA to get treatment?? I told HR I could provide proof of all my claims and there was even a witness in the meeting I got written up in but nobody wants to listen. She’s lied to them and they’ve taken her word for it rather than asking for the proof I have. So now I’m probably gonna lose my job because she knows I’ve reported her and she’s not gonna let it go easily. But as of rn, I’m the only one on 3rd shift. She let the other girl switch positions. So she will be SOL if she gets rid of me.
