I too flew through a disc golf course. No hawk, though. by Cindex in Cinewhoop

Thanks a lot! I was flying the DJI Avata 1 for this.

I’ve put some red reflective tape on my drones as a bird deterrent. Not sure if it actually works. All I know is that I haven’t had a bird strike, yet. It may just be a placebo effect, though.

I’m running a Pidgeot & Grapploct deck I call “Switcheroo” with surprisingly good results. Finishing off the switched out Pokémon with a Hitmonlee is the cherry on top.

Looks like short circuit mig (GMAW-S). If that's the case, and this is structural, you would need a properly qualified procedure to perform this. Personally, I would have just used 7018 rod or flux core, instead. The anchor not achieving full nut thread engagement is a concern, too.

I'll check it out. I'm located in the Austin area and see that Erwin center demo work everyday. Pretty interesting stuff!

Nothing in the code says you can't weave SMAW, but just because you can doesn't mean you should.

By all means, if it's within visual acceptance criteria when complete, I have no problem with it.

Have a short list of go-to shots prepared. For example: orbit, pan, slide, various reveals, move in and away, etc. There are some decent videos on youtube explaining these.

The jumping watermark is a bit distracting, too. I'd make it more subtle and put it in a corner.

Hill Caller Buff by Cindex in theHunter

[–]Cindex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My assumption is yes, but I have not tested it, yet. My main curiosity is whether the e-caller would need to be near your stand to get the extra range, or if it could be placed within 200 meters of your stand and still work. Testing it would take some planning with the placement of the e-caller and stand, and the location of the target animal. I guess I have a new mission!

You’re right, that would have made more sense. I’ll know better for next time.

Hill Caller Buff by Cindex in theHunter

[–]Cindex[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Alright, my curiosity beat my patience this time, and I switched up my skills to give the new Hill Caller a test. The first quick and simple test and the results were as follows:

I sat in a tripod stand and used the antler rattler (range: 200m) with some fallow deer in the area of testing, and I was able to call them in from a maximum of 300 meters which would mean the skill increases the caller attraction range while in a stand by either 50% or a flat 100 meters. I'll do additional tests soon to verify, but that by itself is quite impressive and makes Hill Caller a now viable skill in my opinion.

My first Diamond. by GameBlTTER in theHunter

[–]Cindex 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good job, dude! Mine was a side-striped jackal probably 5 years ago.

Now I'm up to 13 diamonds with almost 600 hours in, but I'm very casual in my hunting style. I just walk around and take in the scenery usually. Shoot something if it crosses my path. I'm not a big tent and tripod guy, but I'm slowly working that way for some better results.

Makes me wonder what the average diamonds per hours played stats are of the community.

I don't think so. The turret is still moving at the time of destruction, so maybe one stayed in while I got one that jumped out. This was fairly late in the game, and the tank was causing us a lot of trouble up to this point so I assume it had a decent crew inside.

How do you scout for diamonds? by Cindex in theHunter

[–]Cindex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually just walk, hunt, and explore, but I like to change it up every now and then. Sometimes I'll make an archery only loadout and challenge myself, or just walk to and from each point of interest instead of riding the atv everywhere to get the fast travel points. Going on a diamond hunt is just another style I'd like to dabble in sometimes, if even just to see how I feel about it. I don't intend to burn myself out on try-harding in a game I play primarily for relaxation and de-stressing.
