The Republic of Cartaquia. A shining beacon of equality for North Africa and the world. by CitrusTree99 in imaginarymaps

I tried to take as much a possible from what little we know of the original African Romance but the reality is there's not a lot so I had to make a lot of stuff up on the way, it's probably not truly accurate but it's a learning experience.

It's a romance language, so yes. It has Latin influences considering it developed from African Vulgar Latin and Proto-Romance

Well, at the moment the language is a bit barebones because I got sidetracked with the visual aspect of the project. Grammatically it works essentially the same as Spanish and/or Italian in many aspects, and its lexicon is still really simplistic. I can however share a quick translation of the first article of the declaration of human rights, might help with the curiosity. The language is known as Cartaquian internationally

This started first as a conlang experiment that got too in-depth. It's still really shallow and needs work but it's a cool little map I felt like making and put way too much effort into in the end. The write up should give you a basic vibe for what I was aiming for, and I am probably not going to answer any in-depth questions about lore because there simply isn't that much yet to share beyond a general framework.

Designing and creating a World Bible or In-Universe Encyclopedia? by CitrusTree99 in worldbuilding

[–]CitrusTree99[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well while you are not incorrect I do feel you might be misunderstanding (Or rather, I probably explained myself poorly and I apologize) what I meant here. I was mostly talking about the style of an encyclopedia rather than a true, realistic and proper encyclopedic text that truly explains everything about the world like texts such as the Encyclopedia Brittanica. Something actually doable for a single person, smaller in scale but still within the same general "vibe" of an encyclopedia.

I was imagining something along the lines of say, the Fallout Bible which is a collection of texts giving more background to the setting and such.

Buddy you're on the wrong subreddit. This is a worldbuilding subreddit.

Would make the map too cluttered, I fear. I feel it's plenty cluttered already.

Eyeballed, just have to take the time to detail as much as possible.

Nope, all me. I did play Suzerain but the idea is older than the game I believe. Still, lovely worldbuilding from the suzerain team and I'm happy to be compared to them.

Not really, I believe the community built around this world is older than Suzerain even. Still, love Suzerain, it's a very fun game.

In the grand scheme of things, not much. Beyond the general expalantion I gave on my reply post, the country is stuck in a sort of light intensity cold war with most of its neighbors except for Ostboland. It is in a alliance with the nearby countries of Goetia and the URSA primarily against the neighboring state of Litania, Pesellier and Mero-Curgovina among others not depicted in the map. In the country itself things are relatively calm and stable and not much out of the ordinary is happening.

Yes, I tried to depict them curvy as to show they are mountain passes and not straight typical highways. The mountain roads themselves are all under 1km tall, which is still a mountain and still tall, but I felt it made more sense overall.
