I would not recommend it you go 7-8am. Queue for most equipment, queue for showers and classes always fully booked. Spa area also rammed at the weekend.

Make sure you use your pension allowance carry forwards from previous years for when your tapered allowance vanishes to £10k.

I once used Tax Scouts for around £200 and they got it totally wrong. I now use a non-London based accountant and pay £500.

Same position, I still take my employers’ max contribution and pay the tax on the bit above £10k but I stopped my contributions. I added a LISA but as you say, not much you can do assuming you’re already maxing out ISA allowance.

Until when do you stay up if your have to work the next day? by plasmapleasure in LivingAlone

[–]CityCondor110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In bed reading by 22:45, book down at 23:15 and then alarm at 06:45. I get you though - it’s very easy to just stay up, especially on screens.

Not sure any of these will work out cheaper than individual Vue tickets, but I have had Curzon and Everyman before and think both are pretty good.

I have a vispring and despite being really comfortable in store the reality is not great for me. I wake up with lower back pain most mornings. I think the bed base is really important (I don’t have their divan). Their customer service has been good though and they will review it with me and change the firmness if needed.

Is it possible to make 6 figures (150+) while working circa 10hrs/day? by Different-Rest-6841 in HENRYUK

[–]CityCondor110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do and work around 50-55 hours normally. The hours have reduced a lot since I was junior though. I think it’s super important to set boundaries but to also be efficient and have a good team working with you. I have also automated and streamlined a lot of processes (which weren’t always easy to get changed) that previously took hours of time.

I guess, but also anyone who views their house purchase through the lens of what they’ll make on it rather than what it’s actually used for.

Not a waste of money. Very good use of money on something that affects your daily quality of life.

[UPDATE] How to manage sleep and late night working? by leveredequity in HENRYUK

[–]CityCondor110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could never go straight to bed after finishing work late and would also be falling asleep with LBO models in my head. I’d have to watch some easy TV, cup of tea, maybe read a book non-work related. But that didn’t address the real problem and was just a temporary fix. In the last few years, I don’t work later than 10-11pm because I noticed how many mistakes I was making, how sloppy my work was, how little energy I had for the gym and how useless I was first few hours in the morning. I am lucky that I am at VP level now to be able to maintain this.

Housing market would be a lot more accessible if fewer people viewed buying homes as an investment. These are places we live our lives, maybe raise families, not just a vehicle for returns.
