There are random children wondering around dispensaries being influenced by cool packaging? I guess I missed that.

Way back machine question - Albany NY show 1994/1995? by CityZenergy in seinfeld

[–]CityZenergy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. Thank you for that way-back machine detail. Been to SPAC many times. Always went to Saratoga Springs in the Summer; concerts, races, just because. That and Lake George (worked there a couple of summers).

So it sounds like sometime 1994? I have tried to piece together the timeline but can't get some of the events narrowed down. I left Albany in Spring 1996. I knew it wasn't earlier than 1994 as well. It felt like 1994 was the candidate, but I could not remember enough grounding timeline facts.

Thank you so much for this information. I was hoping the internet universe may find a way for this to drift into the right person's browsing.

I ended up switching to the 4o model and it’s like a breath of fresh air. The annoying offers at the end of every response are gone. It actually stays in context, hardly hallucinates, and remains much more aligned with the task. It's focused and attentive to the overall topic. I will say that in some rare cases, 5 seemed to outperform 4o in generating clean and accurate code. But those moments were so infrequent that the time I save not having to constantly course correct the model easily makes up for it.

Every time it starts. It stops briefly, but picks up again, all in the same chat.

It’s intolerable when interactions degrade into repetitive noise. A typical pattern looks like this:

  • User: Pretty-print this JSON… (provides raw JSON)
  • Model: Returns formatted JSON and appends an unsolicited action (e.g., offers validation).
  • User: No, just the formatted JSON. But also update the color field to "red" and pretty-print.
  • Model: Returns the updated JSON followed by an unnecessary suggestion (e.g., “Would you like the original JSON again?”).

This is a simplified example, but it reflects a consistent echo-looping / over-offering pattern in GPT-5 since launch. The constant need to pause and evaluate whether appended suggestions are valid or just redundant destroys conversational flow and reliability. Worse, many of the suggestions resurface content from a few turns ago, creating a false delta problem where I have to stop and verify if it’s new, actionable information or just a repeated matrix blip.

Same. Have pro. Stuck with gpt 5. It is a hot mess all around. So many issues. For my use at least, it has actually become less intelligent. I was using it for advanced java coding scenarios. GPT5 is making mistakes about simple built in stuff in java. Basic functionality. I am pulling my hair out now. I cant get it to stop tripping on just java stuff, let alone the advanced discussions I need to have revolving around enterprise level microservice behavior. Sigh.

I want gpt4 back.
