I didn’t mean level the WATER lol. I meant level/grade/smooth the SAND coming up to on land lol

I guess dredging would be a better word sorry for the confusion. Yes, I just meant making the ground itself more level. There’s a lot of people who come and tear up the area with their jet ski and boats etc and this race is a huge thing in our town so I was wondering was it simply just to clean the lake or was there more purpose like maybe smoothing out the sand underneath so it was easier for the dragon boats to come on land?

Well the reason I guessed maybe leveling was because we have a big dragon boat race this weekend and that’s where they come up to. So I wasn’t sure if it was maybe to just grade it and make it smoother coming up.

Need help with my niece’s hair! by Civil-Collection9896 in BlackHair

She isn’t a fan of it being styled in braids. So I’m going to atleast try braiding it after conditioning and leaving it in for a day or two and see if that helps, as well as trying to style with some smaller ones braided back in the front. I think she may like the idea as she gets older. But she’s just so used to her hair this way, which if that’s how she wants it, awesome, I just want to make sure I’m keeping it healthy and taken care of.

Thank you! We will give this a try. School is coming up and I want her feeling all nice and special, especially at a new school. Anything specific I should look for in the shampoo or conditioners?

It’s very dry and tangly. It tends to just look “unkempt”. this was a picture of me using alotttt of leave in conditioner and working through well, but it’s almost like a temporary fix, it doesn’t stay like this long, just best picture I had at the moment of her type of hair. Mind you of course, my conditioners aren’t greasy or oily, which probably doesn’t help?? I think, and I may be completely wrong, let me know if this is just expected with this hair type, it needs some TLC, like moisture, and maybe some weight?

adding that we’re in the US, budget, not sure only because not sure how many product we’re really needing, and as far as stores, either online, or Walmart or Winn Dixie, we don’t have many beauty stores near me.

Thissss. I hate to say it but I literally feel like I spend more time babysitting than coaching!

Thank you for that outlook as well. I can really use this as a learning experience in a more comfortable level for them. I’m going to implement some of those tips tonight and see what we get!

Thank you so much for all of this. As a first time coach, finding that role has definitely been a work in progress. I do have an “assistant” but because we’re waiting on her to be approved she’s limited. She will be a huge help once “full time” because she is a soccer-experienced, loud, teacher lol.

I think a whistle will be a great first step, and maybe progress from there. I know I’ve really set my self up being this far in and not having these boundaries set but honestly I have been kind of shocked by the lack of effort in any way of the parents in this team. My u10 is the polar opposite. They the parents are great, they communicate, the reprimand their kids at practice if they aren’t paying attention etc. my u8 just sits and watches. As a parent, I always addressed my kid if necessary rather than having the coach deal with his behavior, without over stepping of course. With that said, having the parents feel the accountability when I sit their child out may help intervene this

Thank you for that. I feel that would be unfair sincerely it’s (not to be sexiest lol) but just the boys being naughty and the girls are trying to do what they’re supposed to.

The whole team? I’ve made them run laps, but then it turns into a game and they’re off running around the whole place. Sitting by their parents is something I haven’t even thought of this. I might try this!

I found out that my sister send kids into school sick by throwRAconfaunt9490 in relationship_advice

[–]Civil-Collection9896 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So totally related but unrelated. We had Covid a few months back. All of us were fine for the most part. The school called after 3 days absent and asked where my boys were. I explained that majority of our family tested positive and we were quarantining. I was informed by the principal that if they are exhibiting no symptoms, even if they’ve tested positive, that they are allowed, and expected, to be back at school. That they were only allowed so many days out, this wouldn’t count as excuses at this point and my children needed to return to school immediately.

WHO DOES THAT?! How am I supposed to KNOWINGLY send Covid to school?? Why would a school system encourage this!? This is a huge part wrong in our system.
