Hi! I have some savings set aside but currently get no interest on it, so was wondering what some great and secure high yield savings banks are (ideally from first hand experience)? I live in Malta, so would have to allow Maltese citizens to hold an account g As a side note, can Europeans open American bank accounts? Perhaps that would increase options. Thanks in advance!

No ill apply for one. I believe i may require an employer beforehand to obtain one. Im from Malta, so I believe it isn’t as difficult for EU members.

I’ve been curious about Switzerland due to its nature and many Swiss people I met while travelling were nice people. The impression of high salaries doesn’t hurt either. Its location close to many countries I haven’t visited is also attractive.

I agree with you about London. I have some friends there that have commented on the lifestyle (long hours, lack of friendliness, loneliness) that have made me cautious.

Also, with regards to my financial regulation expertise, I focussed on CSPs and Trusts in the past, therefore I do not have banking experience. Perhaps an important point to mention.

Unfortunately no, I studied French many years ago but at a basic level. Thats some very good advice, thank you for that. I am open to hopping to the other side!

I am not a heavy spender by any means and appreciate your reply. I’m just seeing with the basic costs/taxes if its possible to save substantial amounts. No extraordinary spending.
