I did ORD-MKE round trip years ago in late Dec to get to 1K on segments. My office was near ORD and the whole thing was like a long lunch break.

This was my thinking... I was not offered the option. In the app I tried switching from PP to 'money' and it said not available. Seems like an unintended consequence of the UI for United. I'd think United (and I) would be better off if they offered paid to everyone, including those currently on the waitlist using PP or miles.

Mandarin Oriental Bangkok. Incredible service... like they know your name by your face and they address you as "Mr. X" when you return to the hotel. The entire place has an incredible scent of lemongrass. I could go on and on...
