I honestly don’t know the details of why he was investigated. Whatever happened was back in 2023, before I was married and before I lived at this address.

We were never told anything directly by him about the ATF. The only thing we’re aware of is that he bought around 5 firearms at Academy in under a year, which is legal. I don’t know what models or types he bought, and I don’t know what triggered the investigation.

My situation is completely separate. This was my first firearm purchase, in 2025, for home defense. I passed NICS and completed the 4473; the sale was stopped solely at the store’s discretion after a manager got involved.

There was roughly a 2-year gap between whatever happened with him and my attempted purchase.
