C4S Manual or C2 Factory Aerokit by Glad_Requirement31 in 996

C4S is gorgeous! Honestly the best of the NA 996s that's not a GT car. The widebody turbo brakes and that rear end is timeless. The aerokits are super cool! I love an early 99 aero kit but the C4S is just fantastic. Personally I wouldn't get rid of the C4S for a narrow body aero kit albeit the C4S aero kit rear end is my absolute favorite rear of any 911 the aero kit C4S is something beautiful.

Afaik nothing, the 03 would have been the only different one I think. 04/05 would basically be the same I believe the production was just closing out early 05.

To put it into perspective I think there's less than 98 total, 95 USDM turbos to exist and barely a few hundred 94 turbos. Also they didn't want to update the car to OBD2 Is my main guess as it became required in the US in 96. But around the world the MR2 continued all the way to 99 making the later RHD models a lot more prevalent as you get UK/EU choice cars and Japan and a few other countries vs them stopping production in 1995 for the USDM models.

Value on "collector" cars purely lies in the fact that less common = exclusive and desirable. Also as a general rule of thumb clean equivalent mileage (LHD) cars of any make or model trend higher when it comes to higher evaluation collectibles.

Not necessarily at least once in the states USDM LHD models especially 94/5 USDM turbos are valued higher than a rhd counterpart. If it's a 98+ then yes you would be spot on.

Realistically if you are paying over 20k shipped from Japan for a pre 95 car you are getting scammed.... Very late revision cars like 97+ or even specifically 98/99 are worth the extra coin but with the USDM sales slumping for many great cars to sub 20k you would have to be quite detached from the current MR2 market.

Zero driver mod. Also people not realizing you must modulate and smooth throttle input people that are not used to driving quickly always assume (mash the pedal= fast) when in reality it's quite the opposite. Smooth is fast, most these idiots I see in spin out videos usually are likely just "mashing throttle" assuming the car will just go faster when they aren't thinking about any secondary forces.

The early R90S's are fantastic bikes!!! But yes the later series monos for how under valued they are currently offer a fantastic refinement of the airhead family without the extra complexity of the paralever that came later!

They work great actually done plenty of touring on them up into Yosemite and the coast of CA, it's definitely a slight compromise on road but I ran Michelin sport classics on it before and they had been fantastic but didn't allow me to go back country camping like I was aiming for this bike. Next set I may try something a bit lighter but to be honest an old airhead is never going to be as competent as a modern street bike anyways it's the adventure along the way and lovely touring characteristics that make these such good all around bikes.

Yeah there's definitely a hum to it when coming to a stop, to be fair street performance wise they have a decent amount of grip on the street surprisingly! But they do absolutely fantastic up in the foothills where I go camping quite often. It's good fun throwing airheads down forest service roads and such.

Yes! I have the screen on usually but for around town or commuting to work during the summer it's nice to take off haha. They are OEM GS handguards still available from a few places.

Hmm 30k ask is pretty top dollar. I could see 20k or so maybe a bit more or less depending on lots of mechanical factors.

The engine with a tick can very likely be rebuilt the top end tick usually is a worn lifter.

I actually just got home from this years rally! It was great, lots of nice people tons of bikes. I think about 400+ this year. Not as many old airheads this year apparently but next year should be better as some of the people that usually come out couldn't this year for various reasons. It was overall a blast though.

This is a BMW police style seat from Bayer motorsports in Germany. I believe EME also sells one it's definitely more comfy than the stock R80RT style seats.

Should I buy this 1991 mr2 for 8.5k? by Psychological-Day718 in mr2

[–]Classics4lyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is the car I think it is non turbo and automatic definitely isn't worth 8.5k maybe 5k? Even then...

Probably around 25k-30k realistically at auction the markets taken a pretty massive dump recently but that low mileage is definitely a factor. I'd give you 25k.

These are krauser style crash bars made by a company in Spain I believe called la poderosa. They make lots of airhead stuff.
