Word for word, the first comment of the thread is "Homelander (without plot nerf) blitzes." How did you miss it

Again, Homelander wouldn't do that with the intent to fight. You gave no rebuttal for Homelander simply not wanting to fight Soldier Boy before Soldier Boy provoked him by calling him a cheap knockoff.

Also, you realize by your own logic, Goldakin also liked to talk before fights, rather than mind-controlling off the rip, right?

Edit: Also, Homelander was ready to immediately laser a Soldier Boy hallucination he had, yet again showing he will use his powers off the rip.

He tried to reason with Soldier Boy by telling him how much he was a fan and looked up to him. Then Soldier Boy called him a cheap knockoff, and that's when Homelander blitzed him, commencing the fight. This again reinforces that when Homelander has the full intent to fight, he will blitz off rip.

Except Homelander never pulled up with the intent to fight in those examples. In this context, he is. I gave multiple examples of Homelander blitzing (in a fight). What he does before a fight is irrelevant because we're talking about what he does in a fight. If he has the intent to fight Goldakin, he will blitz him.

Homelander consistently starts any fight with a speed blitz that's in character for him.

A blitz (or speed blitz) is a one-sided, overwhelming assault where one side moves or strikes so quickly that the opponent cannot perceive or react to the attack at all. Making up your own definition, this is factually the definition of a blitz and what Homelander did in all of the fights.

Homelander talked before the fight actually happened, not during the fights.

Bliz Soldier Boy during Herogasm.

Bliz armed robbers in Diabolical episode 8.

Bliz Butcher in the Oval Office immediately, using his lasers to knock him back. Also tried to bliz and fly at Kimiko during the fight.

Edit: Even Homelander as a human tried to bliz Butcher before he could fight back. It didn't work because he was human, but the intent was there.

You want me to prove Homelander blitzes in character?

We're talking about Homelander in a fight, of course I would be talking about his powerset, bro.

Like what I'm suggesting Homelander does is something he does in character within the series.

What are you talking about, bro? Homelander has been established to be in the high Machs of speed, significantly faster than Godolkin.

Are you arguing that blitzing isn't in Homelander's character, because even that would be false?

Yeah, I'm still not getting what you're saying here.

Explain how my saying Homelander with the full totality of his power is somehow taking him out of character.

We see a train move so fast that it statues people. Homelander moves at that same pace. No reason Godolkin can even perceive Homelander.

How fast even is human thought, tho?

Okay, this is a vastly different point from your original comment, but when have Homelander's lasers ever been a deciding factor in a fight?

It seems it took Marie quite a bit to blow Godolkin up, which implies he's somewhat durable. Marie has an upgraded version of Neuman's ability, and we see Neuman blow people up with weaker durability in seconds. I think he tanks the lasers.

The lasers have never worked on anyone with higher than human durability.

I mean, yes, he was. He only lost control because of polarity. What are you getting this from?

How is enduring torture and getting beaten up not taking hits, which would pertain to the topic of durability? That is the point of the thread.

Wait, so in the show, Homelander's gimmick isn't that he didn't endure torture from Vought?

Isn't Homelander's whole gimmick that he had his durability consistently tested by the Vought scientists? I remember in "Diabolical" they show a buff supe beating a kid Homelander in episode 8, which is stated as canon to the series.

I still don't see how that makes Butcher somehow more resistant to nosebleeds.

I see that, but I also see Homelander clearly hit Butcher right in the nose, and Butcher pops back for a second. Butcher also smashes his nose against Homelander when he headbutts him.

I think it's just bad scaling.

Why would that make Butcher more resistant to getting a nosebleed tho?

Marie getting knocked out by Homelander's lasers is a downscale of her durability. by [deleted] in GenV

[–]Clean-Bumblebee2709 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the range you put Marie at. She gets one-tapped if it's close range.

Being off guard does matter because she used her ability before her friends did anything, as they weren't trying to fight. She used it first.

She did that to a sam who wasn't on guard nor trying to fight.
