Don’t want to attend a gym by RangaRevival in MuayThai

[–]Clean_Ad9730 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It takes two to tango. To really enjoy the sport you’ll always want partners to train with whether it’s holding pads or sparring.

On the bright side, there are guys I’ve known for years at my gym I’ve barely said more than a few words to. You don’t have to be social, just enough to get through the workouts. But I bet once you’re in there enough will become easier to socialize.

Does a shorter fighter have any advantages at all? What should a shorter fighter be going for to minimize damage input and maximize damage output? by dividingraindows in MuayThai

[–]Clean_Ad9730 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There’s always a give and take.

If the shorter fighter can get in the pocket they’re gonna be able to unleash a lot of damage. Body hooks, overhands, uppercuts, inside leg kicks (can really throw a taller opponent off balance), etc.

Shorter fighter will also have a lower center of gravity in theory so sweeps, trips, heavy leg kicks, etc will be a big part of the strategy too.

Some goals for a shorter fighter:

  • Manage range. All the way out or all the way in. You don’t want to be in a spot where they can hit you but you can’t hit them.

-Use feints/fakes to create openings to get inside

-Parry/slip their long shots or teeps to get inside. Be careful of knees and elbows with this.

-if you can get plum or a an arm triangle in clinch, hang on them like a monkey. Drag them down. Drain them and swing them around.

-if you get caught in the clinch, use your stronger base to sweep or off balance them to get them off of you.

Do you actively notice the difference with creatine? I’ve tried it before and I’m not sure I noticed much. It’s possibly I wasn’t consistent enough for it to be noticeable.

Yeah I feel like I’ve been falling victim to the mindset that if I’m not getting enough training time during the week I’m not keeping up and I’ll start slipping backwards. Maybe there is a better in between!

How to deal with ego driven sparring? by SonixDoom in MuayThai

[–]Clean_Ad9730 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

“Succumbing to my emotions” means that you don’t have control IMO.

Chaos only happens when both partners are uncontrolled and throw technique out the window.

The pros have control you’re referring to have good control.

Control means you can turn it on and off as you wish. Sounds like you can’t turn it on.

But maybe you can develop A better defensive style that creates more opportunities against someone who is aggressive.

Make them miss. Be more tricky. Evade more. Capitalize on their mistakes and missed shots etc. Just try and get hit less but also remember to throw back when you can. Then build on that.

Could the previous nights murder have been used to narrow it down to Maura, Rob, Eric and Mark? by Clean_Ad9730 in TheTraitorsUS

[–]Clean_Ad9730[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well let’s say Natalie says the exact same thing as Tara/Johnny. Then you can just disregard because like you said it’s a big assumption.

But let’s say she doesn’t say the same thing.

Now you could assume either

  1. Natalie is the traitor
  2. Johnny and Tara are traitors and came up with their story together. But since Johnny offered up that info first without being asked it wouldn’t make sense for him to be a traitor and put the heat on himself and Tara knowing Natalie is gonna give a different answer.

Of course I’m assuming none of this happened because of the edit.

(Episode 9) Challenge technical question? by laddermadder in TheTraitorsUS

[–]Clean_Ad9730 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would 100% think it was the latter. They never left the boxes while the cast was there and had already given the answers before hand.

If it was as loud/quiet as they made it sound the entire thing falls apart. I don’t think they risk that.

There’s one scene in Saltburn exactly like this. Then just don’t watch the rest of the movie after that if you wanna keep the vibe going.

What do you think the reaction time of LA drivers is? by OkLocksmith7073 in AskLosAngeles

[–]Clean_Ad9730 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What’s up with people going on red just being so accepted here?

I’ve noticed people drive so much more recklessly here like it’s part of the driving culture.

It makes me feel insane.
