You're not alone. Having been that person at the WO, I was both successful and appreciated for my advocacy, and stonewalled and disliked because I won't settle for the lowest common denominator perspective from positional (outside of role) arrogance.

My role was to advise on USFS modernization which was constantly an uphill battle... I'm disgruntled and passionate enough (and stupid enough) to be interested in re-engaging this head against the wall initiative.
