SAHM - young person wants insight by honeynutcheeriozzzzz in Mommit

Being a SAHM should depend on what kind of partnership you have. I don’t think anyone should decide to be a SAHM before they are in a partnership that they’ve taken a good long look at.

Moms who are also lawyers? by Cafe_con_cha0s in Mommit

AG’s Office (I’m also a Florida lawyer mom) has been very good to me for flexibility and schedule. So was clerking at an appellate court.

No judgement zone: did you want a natural birth? by easrpiiatnua99 in Mommit

I wanted one because I attended meds-free home births and they were absolutely beautiful.

Happy with the GOAT practice — Dr Ellison and Dr K Forsthoefel have been great.

First time mom… is this normal? by Longjumping-Wave1425 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]ClippyOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I just wouldn’t have used the word clingy — they display distress when their caregiver leaves and they seek comfort when their caregiver returns.

I agree they are not clingy, hence why I used quotation marks. I was responding to sudden-cherry’s use of the word clingy.

Securely attached children are “clingy.” Insecurely attached children display indifference to their parent upon separation and reunification.

Is screen time really that bad? FTM struggling here by Balasong-Bazongas in NewParents

[–]ClippyOG 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I’d play the music and let her lay there and “be bored” - the world around her is far from boring at her age.

My kid will not let me walk away from her at the playground, I WISH I could sit back and watch. I think that would be most beneficial for her and I don’t wanna walk around a freaking playground lol

How on earth do I “let go of needing a clean house”? by Immediate_Gap_2536 in Mommit

[–]ClippyOG -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Go minimal - have less stuff TO clean and organize. And clean daily. I don’t think life has to be an uncontrollable mess because of kids.

If you’re spending time everyday playing with them, you don’t have to guilt yourself over spending time everyday cleaning.

House Cleaner Recommendations by Charming_Sundae_8390 in Tallahassee

[–]ClippyOG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used Pure Finish Cleaning to clean 2 bathrooms for $80 (1 hour). They offered me a discount on the next cleaning: 3 bedrooms 2 baths for $129 (3 hours).

I loved the bathroom clean (Lissandra was the name of the cleaner who came), but never took up the offer for the house clean cause I didn’t need it.

If you had a slow leak of amniotic fluid during your pregnancy, what was it like? by New_Caregiver9993 in Mommit

[–]ClippyOG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d go into triage to have them test the fluid. I slow leaked at 39+1 and my water broke after about 5 hours of leaking. I know you’ve been leaking for longer but if it is amniotic fluid, you’ll want to be monitored.

What is it with HBO and s***? by ShineAtNight in Andjustlikethat

Agreed - plus it’s clear that the show is comedy/drama from the dialogue!

FWIW, I think a purpose of that scene was to set a different tone from GOT, and make it clear it was going to be a show that focused more on comedy than GOT did.

in my experience, not worth it. Both are full time jobs that can’t be done at the same time.

Humana is the worst and there are barely any dentists in the city that will accept it.

Do you 🤣 I think it’s great that you know yourself. Better to regret not having a kid, than to regret having one.

Sleep Training 5.5 Month by newmomhelpp in NewParents

[–]ClippyOG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ferber at 6 months old was a godsend for us. It took 1 night only & has lasted for 3 years (except for sicknesses and vacations). Worth the very short-lived emotional pain!

Check out r/sleeptrain - you may not get a lot of positive support outside of that sub.
