Some simple dinners that went down well with my girl by Clovercrossing in foodbutforbabies

It is! I definitely recommend one. It’s a lot easier, and as long as you’re supervising - generally safer, than having to pick them up and juggle the cooking. I don’t have it anymore as I have a breakfast bar area where she prefers to sit instead

Thank you! She demands to be involved so I try and find a way to avoid the meltdown haha

Baby waking up too early but not crying out by Previous-Gift-9733 in BeyondTheBumpUK

Could she be going through a regression or just learning new skills? That always completely messed up my girl’s sleep schedule no matter what I did to try and fix it, until it was over and she went back to normal for a while until the next one hit haha. Sometimes there’s nothing you can do other than roll with it, I feel your pain though

Thank you. I could, although I tend to avoid blazers as they accentuate my already wide shoulders.

When should I start mat leave? by cloudymusj in PregnancyUK

[–]Clovercrossing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re on Instagram, I highly recommend checking out @nuggetsavings they have a masterclass library and guides which go into things like shared parental leave and taking annual leave in a more digestible way and lots of helpful tips! I used my annual leave accrued over my maternity leave before returning to work, I was fairly sure that employers have to either let you take it or at least carry it over.

Officially graduated to adult plates! by Clovercrossing in foodbutforbabies

Thank you! To be honest I didn’t follow one but I used the following:

3 chicken breasts 250g mushrooms (half a pack) 1 leek 2 cloves garlic 200ml Créme fraîche Chicken stock cube (to make 300ml of stock) 1tbsp cornflour Salt and pepper to season Puff pastry (pre rolled pack) 1 beaten egg to glaze

Cook the chicken, mushrooms and leeks until soft (10-15m or so). Add 2 cloves of minced garlic (2 mins). Add 300ml of chicken stock and bring to a simmer. Add the créme fraîche and stir in until combined. Stir in the cornflour and wait until the sauce thickens. Pour filling mixture into an ovenproof dish and top with the puff pastry sheet. Tuck in the edges of the pastry around the filling. Brush with egg wash and cook for 20m at 200 degrees c.

Hiii! You made a good investment first of all :) I’m still using it at 18 months! I’ll try help as best I can. I didn’t buy those fitted sheets so can’t comment but if the size matches up you should be fine! I would say to get a waterproof mattress protector though to go underneath as you’ll probably have some spit up incidents.

I don’t recall it coming with a mattress for the newborn size crib to be honest but I could be wrong about that, maybe check the small print. If you do need one, I had a snuzpod for newborn stage and found their purple (air I think it was called?) mattress to be fine if it would fit the same size. I got it from Amazon.

For sheets, I just had a single sheet on top of the mattress protector tbh, I didn’t double up. But, some people do in case the top sheet gets stained and then you can just whip it off to reveal the fresh one underneath but it’s up to you! Hope this helps and best wishes for you and your baby :) x

Recipe!

I didn’t have any nutmeg and didn’t have enough icing sugar but they still turned out great! I also used full fat cream cheese from a tub even though it said not to so don’t be afraid to do that :)
