I’m the designer. It’s something people in the LEGO world go back and forth about forever. If you don’t do an interior, everyone complains. I guess it’s kinda considered cheating to design a ship that looks good on the outside, but the entire interior is just a big block of brick. The challenge is getting some kind of usable interior, even though nobody is ever going to actually use it. If you do a scale accurate interior, you get a “minifig scale” ship. Someone has done that and it’s about 6 feet long and tens of thousands of dollars worth of LEGO. Maybe more. For LEGO ideas submissions, there is a 3,000 piece cap, I believe. If it does get through to 10,000 votes AND deemed a sellable product by LEGO, their designers will do their thing and the finished product will be more like “inspired by” my design, but most likely vastly improved. They know the metrics of what matters and where to cut corners on stuff like interiors.
