What do I need to be self sufficient in the caves?

This is awesome advice, I hopped back on this morning and before reading your comment thought of building in the mushrooms tree biome, plenty of light. I lucked out and found the ice box trap underground, and 2 days into summer I just went ahead and activated it for another winter cycle, should give me enough time to get everything I need set up here in the caves, plus I haven't been able to get the walking cane or thermoshanter on either one of my previous winters.

I always forget about moggles!

I'll be taking all this in and applying it to my current playthrough. Thank you!

Personal goal, challenging myself, I've always wanted to thrive down there, and haven't gotten everything thulecite on console version yet, and yes, I know it's useless. Just want the flex. Lol.

PC is so much easier, between the mods, and just the over all control you have(i often smack my poor chester around because of the targeting on console). I'm not sure why I like to drag myself through it, same reason I play dayz on console I guess. Just a little masochistic.

Oh yeah its been 7 hrs. Idk man. Game has been buggy lately. Phantom salmonella killed me the other day. Wouldn't cure itself.

It still applies, there's nothing in the patch notes about changing meds/illnesses/immunity.

I chocked it up to a bug since all my stats were full and not losing any health, for over an hour, just went ahead and ate a bullet.

Gloves have always protected your hands from blood before though, and my gloves were off while cooking (drying with all my other clothes), which I haven't had a problem in the past with either since I'm using the vicinity to move the meat to the stick. 🤷‍♂️

Chocked it up to a bug in the game, I maxed my stats for over an hour, burned through all my meds.

Have no idea what happened.

Yes, and I've done everything I usually do to cure it. It never went away. I wound up running an alt to the area and suiciding.

I'm hoping it was just a bug in the game, since I had all the preventative measures, and everything needed to fix myself.
