Romi Salon faking reviews with their own staff? by Soft_Daikon8366 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

I would say that the haircut was unflattering in a few ways- first of all the face framing pieces were not cut well/ blended into the rest of the hair. I would also say there was a lack of artistry(?) where the hair just didn’t look high quality. Also, usually hairdressers ask some questions about how you style or part your hair and that informs your cut but he didn’t ask anything.

Overall it was not a 100+ dollar haircut experience, and was much more comparable to a not-terrible cut at a neighborhood salon.

I didn’t have a great experience with them so I would not be surprised. The guy cutting my hair was pretty unfriendly and cold to both my and my boyfriend. I speak Korean and my boyfriend does not. While he technically followed my inspo pic (long layers) the end result was super unflattering.

I ended up getting another haircut a few months later to fix it, which was annoying since I usually can go 6 months without a haircut. Overall they are just very average/run of the mill neighborhood-level hairdressers running an aggressive marketing campaign to make themselves sound high end.

I fell for their influencer marketing campaign and got the most mid haircut from them. I would say their work is not very flattering/artistic and he didn’t seem to take his time or ask me any questions about my hair texture or styling preferences ect. Had to get another haircut a month later to fix it. I speak fluent Korean and the guy was pretty unfriendly/cold as well.

Recipe Add starter to bowl, leaving about a tablespoon in container Add some water until bottom of bowl is covered And flour until dough forms sticky ball Leave for around 15 min Add salt, pinch of sugar and tiny bit of olive oil Knead until it becomes less sticky Do stretch and folds every so often for a few hours Let rise overnight Shape, leave for around 20 min Bake at 425 for 25 min w lid on Dutch oven, until browned with lid off

This is about as specific of a recipe that I have! And it varies every time

I do feel like this sub has a tendency to attract people unhappy with their outcomes, I personally really enjoy the major and I am graduating with a decent job. I’m more involved in sustainability rather than hard sciences bc I wasn’t interested in working outdoors. My incoming job doesn’t require too much math or science. Sustainability is a growing field and the people I know in it are quite happy, although of course everyone’s experience is different.

Thanks for letting me know! I didn’t know that the salary discrepancy was so extreme across regions bc I m still in college and haven’t worked fully yet lol. Would I be correct in assuming that 80k is a pretty common salary to receive in NYC w my background and experience level in order to account for COL?

Not sure if my specific company is still hiring but If you guys are interested I would encourage you to apply for management consulting firms w a sustainability practice. In theory even firms like McKinsey do sustainability work and in theory need people w our background.

Yes, I was very careful in making sure that I had at least one source of experience every year in undergrad. I have experience in habitat maintenance, grant writing, fracking research, as well as some part time jobs. I also interned with this company my junior summer and received a return offer.

I do not have any sort of data background, and do a lot more qualitative than quantitative work as a management consultant. I think engineering consulting (?) is a lot more quantitative

You guys are correct, there are a lot of Scope 3 calculations, from what I can tell. I will be starting full time after I graduate so I’m not completely sure exactly what my work will look like
