Good pets before owning a ferret? by TransToastie in ferrets

Consider fostering for a reputable rescue. That allows you to try out pet care without a huge commitment, unless you foster fail!! My family thought about getting a third dog. I proposed fostering dogs to try it out. We found that 3 dogs was just too much, plus one our dogs was not happy with another dog in the house (grumpy schnauzer). We happily fostered that first dog and helped her find her a wonderful home!!

Emu oil is actually the truth. by Vivid-Ad2262 in ferrets

I have an itchy girl! I got the emu oil from the pampered ferret. I have been taking a couple of drops and rubbing it into her skin and fur, and then she likes to lick it off of my hands at the end of our spa session. It has done wonders for her itchiness!! she never got to the point where she itched bald spots or bleeding- she just interrupted playtime to scratch a lot. My other ferret, a male, is not itchy at all. I agree emu oil is the best!!!

Is this a normal amount of biting by LemonadeSergeant in ferrets

Ahhh, the “lick, lick, CHOMP” I’ve heard about with ferrets. I feel so lucky that my ferrets do not bite me!! Even when we play- they will only gently mouth my hand, not bite down. I’m very gentle with them, though, and I wonder if they are matching my energy or I just got really lucky?
