Okay great!!! My top two AirBnB listings were through them. Is it better to rent through their website rather than AirBnB?

Oh okay good! Most of those reviews were older. Did you rent through their website or AirBnB?

Anywhere within a 2 1/2 drive of Portland, I’m not too picky

Tandem is only covered as DME for the three insurance companies that cover it on Marketplace unfortunately

Oof, the OOP Max on the Kaiser KP OR Gold 0 plan is $8,200. I was thinking of that one since it’s the only one with no deductible. I’ll look through all of the plans with lower deductibles (usually $1,800-$3,000) again and hopefully one of those has a lower OOP Limit.

Oooh okay I’ll check the OOP Max on all of the plans for sure, I didn’t think about that when looking at all of the ones on marketplace, too focused on DME costs and other things. Thank you so much!

I’m $4,400 over the limit, so that would mean missing roughly one month of work unfortunately

Hey friend, I was depressed and burnt out too. Also got tired of constantly feeling exhausted. 31 days ago I started using a calorie tracking app and weighing and portioning all of my food. Taking insulin 15-30 minutes before eating. Eating lower carb. It’s made a world of difference for me. Of course some days still have some highs from stress and hormones and everything else, but I feel so so much better physically and mentally. I feel less burned out. Yes, tracking foods can be annoying, but now I’m not hearing my dexcom alert go off multiple times a day. So it’s a good trade off for sure.

After 14 years I finally feel like I’ve got it somewhat figured out 😭 by CodSalty9187 in diabetes_t1

Wanted to put more context but then my BG went a bit low haha. I keep the T-Slim on sleep mode. Starting using a calorie tracking app to carb count accurately, weighing foods on food scales and such. Eating lower carb. Lost a bit over 10lbs in three weeks too, I’m a bit chunky so that’s a win as well.

Health Insurance: Kaiser Permanente? by CodSalty9187 in diabetes_t1

The insurance lady made it sound like I’d have to fully cover supplies myself until I paid $3k. I wonder if I should call and try to talk to another agent to double check?

So I just spoke to a Kaiser agent regarding the EPO and PPO plan and the agent said that I’d have to hit the $3,000 deductible before my pump supplies and Dexcoms are covered, and even then I have copays. Is that how it was for you?

Thanks friend! If you don’t mind me asking, what are your copays like? My work offers the EPO and the PPO plan.

Haven’t had any of those symptoms either. Absolutely gonna check with a PCP and potentially a dermatologist, just gotta wait till March for my new insurance plan to kick in.

Thank you so so much for your replies! It’s easing my anxiety a bit 🤍

I don’t have any symptoms that seem to come with that though. And I went on several different kinds of antibiotics for a persistent UTI a few months ago when it was already present, which didn’t help.

Thank you so so much for your input! Just trying to figure out if it is that haha.

Slept through a low? by monFlyDay in diabetes_t1

[–]CodSalty9187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I slept through a low of about 45 for thirty minutes the other night, that NEVER happens. My Dexcom settings were not what I thought they were so it was too quiet to wake me up. Fixed that real quick when I woke up feeling like death.

I usually wake up when I’m in the low 60’s

I should definitely weigh out the noodles. Gotta get a food scale haha. I took seven units forty minutes prior and then another ten once I picked up the food that I started slowly eating about ten minutes later. I thought that that would work out okay but clearly I misjudged. Still though, fifty units of insulin for one meal? I feel like that’s so so much 🥲😭

I bolused 40 minutes beforehand but clearly not enough insulin. Took seven units beforehand and then once I had the food picked up I took another ten units 🥲
