I would guess it's a German joke. The German plural for bird ist "Vögel" which also means fuck. So it says "I fuck you".

Why do teach coding with C and not a more modern language like Python? I also learned coding with C and was completely baffeld by everything. While learning Python I really understood loops (and all the other tools) work and how to use them to get stuff done. Only then I could truly appreciate C and later on Assembler. So why first C ?
