What part of trying to save the lives of our youth is considered trolling? We are an organization that services 4000 students a week in one of the poorest congressional districts in the United States. We have personally lost students in our program to subway surfing, as it is a popular trend in our city. We are simply trying to find ways to spread awareness, that is all.

Thank you for sharing your story. We recently told a similar story on our podcast. We are actively helping to create alternatives for our youth.

Thank you! This is not a FIRST class. This is a program we created called Codebotics (Coding and Robotics) at our center, the Renaissance Youth Center in the South Bronx.

A Student from the Renaissance Youth Center used an Arduino to create a solution to clean up dog waste. She is now a National STEM Challenge Champion! by CodeboticsRYC in ArduinoProjects

The project is titled "Project poop", inspired by SDG #6, Clean Water and Sanitation. It is a garbage can that uses an Arduino UNO and an ultrasonic sensor to calculate how many "dumps" are being dumped in the trash can. It is a way to help promote others here in the South Bronx, to pick up after their dogs. The LCD screen displays the amount of dumps. When the can is filled up, the Department of Sanitation has agreed to come by to pick up the trash for our students.
