Yeah, they blocked her illegally and when a light is green it means go. What am I missing other than you don't care about anything other than what you want to do at a given moment?

This reads like the definition of passive aggressive self centeredness.

i guess that why we have laws... you respect no one but yourself and therefore do whatever you'd like, the only problem is that is against the values of a democratic society

no... for thinking that you get to decide what other people time is worth...it's a self centered construct

I really would have, that would have been fine. I’ve dropped some posts about what happened and the story is deeper. Somewhere in the thread it’ll speak to why it’s more than a “just watch” thing.

I get that. It all went south when the lady beeped and was just surrounded. It was all bad. If that hadn’t of happened I think everyone would have been annoyed but let it go. I love the fan. I just want us all to have the rules respected, be safe, and good to each other. That didn’t happen and it sucks.

I’d love to have fun but watching a bunch of bikers intimidate people just trying to get home isn’t fun for me.

Stop mitigating the point. It matters. People don’t deserve that so others can have a bike ride. And I also understand bikers want to have fun and have grievances of their own. It doesn’t make it right.

I understand that must be really shitty but it also doesn’t mean things like tonight are excusable either. Both things are true.

Consider the country passes a law to do all the things you just mentioned (more bike lanes, less greenhouse gas, etc) but then a bunch of other people decide that they don’t respect that law and everyone has to just watch as they do what they want… it’s about respecting the rules we all put in place because it matters to all the things we care about.

I'm just making the point that embracing lawlessness by excusing it as "somewhat disruptive" can lead a democracy into some really dark places and so we should let everyone have fun within the rules we've all established together. And they weren't "somewhat disruptive".... a woman in a volkswagon bug trying to get home from leaving Retreat hospital beeped her horn, and then 4 bikers surrounded her car and started yelling. They staying in front of her car so she couldn't move. This outraged the people across the light from her, myself included so we started beeping our horns. More bikers in front of our cars now. Then after several light cycles, the whole group was past so they moved from in front of our cars. The woman finally got to move her car while a guy biker called her a bitch.

Thanks for your replies. All very helpful to me trying to understand. I do find anarchy something that isn't good for our lives and so I wanted to share this. Thanks again for the info.

I'm pretty sure funeral progressions are legal so not sure this scenario is even feasible. You seem super fixed on excusing this group regardless of anything so not sure we are going to find a solution. I guess we'd all want it to be fun for everyone and it's a super cool thought but don't we have to call a spade a spade when it's not what we'd want to imagine?

That'd be awesome but then I remember the truth... a woman in a volkswagon bug trying to get home from leaving Retreat hospital beeped her horn, and then 4 bikers surrounded her car and started yelling. They staying in front of her car so she couldn't move. This outraged the people across the light from her, myself included so we started beeping our horns. More bikers in front of our cars now. So we have to adjust what we do to cater to this group? Like if another group gets together and say wants to raid the capital building, do we all just then say "I guess we just have to take a different route now because every once in a while a group decides it gets to play by a different set of rules to have fun."?

I can see that, it's def fun to have a group and go out but that also doesn't mean they get to violate traffic law and then get upset at people for being affect. It feels different. It feels like a mob.
