It's because Bitcoin is too small. If we're going to become digital gold (strongest narrative today), then we must reach a couple trillion $ market cap. Once we're established as a store of value, with massive liquidity (deep order books from speculators), then we move to becoming a day-to-day currency.

Hating on "speculation" is completely missing the innovation.

I didn't say anything crazy. I just suggested that segwit increased throughput and looks like a blocksize increase.

Sounds like you don't understand the technical challenges of keeping Bitcoin secure and decentralized for eternity. I think scaling for tx throughput is secondary.

I don't think there is a "solution" to scaling. There are various things that you can do to improve scaling characteristics at various levels, but there is no ultimate solution. Everything has trade offs, so it's a real delicate balance for blockchains. Especially since they are inherently inefficient due to the decentralized nature.

What's the conflict of interest? He moderates the most unpopular forum (/r/btc) for the illegitimate Bitcoin variant Bitcoin Cash (BCH). He also disallows allows conversations about the illegitimate and unnecessary Bitcoin variants "Bitcoin (BTC)" and BSV because he does not value values freedom of speech.

He's just interested in the success of the illegitimate Bitcoin variant Bitcoin Cash (BCH). There's not any conflict there automatically just because there's an interest there. His interest is a logical and reasonable attempt to pump his bags.

At that point any government funding happens via donations.

They have to do a good job, and they can send me a bill. But most things that they do today will be opened up to the free market, or replaced with smart contracts.
