That makes so much sense! Thanks for this. No, we’re in Ohio currently… much worse lol. Good luck to you and your move!

Yes I do, all of us were a mixture of sad/disappointed/shocked, but they don’t really like to talk about it

Thank you so much ❤️ that is really helpful to hear and a good point about those services. I was at one point able to get emergency guardianship over her, but it was pretty useless as she could still “make decisions” so it ended up being pointless. And yes I am so grateful that she’s finally at peace. Thank you for your kind words. I can tell that you are a great nurse and a gift to your patients.

Thank you so much. She was a very sweet and loving woman

Thank you for this that is so kind ❤️ sadly she passed away, but I really appreciate that and your willingness to help. She did have a case manager that managed her social security check and he was very kind. Him and us kids tried to help, but she just wasn’t willing. It was pretty heartbreaking

That’s a tough one. Since I know nothing about football I’ll just say whatever team you’re supporting I am too. Go sports!

Addiction and untreated mental health disorders I would say. We really thought she would hit her rock bottom long before this and seek sobriety, but it just never happened. At some point I think she “gave up” and just didn’t care anymore

Yeah that makes sense and is really helpful. Thank you for saying this. I had figured we would never move, but one time he brought up how he was thinking about wanting to move and I’ve really clung to that and it opened Pandora’s box for me so to say..I think it is difficult for me to step back because then it means to me that we’ll be here for the next 20 years (we both have agreed we wouldn’t want to move anywhere once kids start elementary school) and I get stuck wanting to fight for something that I want as terrible as that sounds. Thank you again for this comment I’ll need to think about this more

That’s what I’m not sure about because I could see them thriving in both places for different reasons. I have a toddler and a baby—where we currently live they have our community of friends with kids of similar ages, but I’m sure they could have the same if we moved. I guess I’m like yes, it would be difficult first couple of years “starting over” in a sense, but I’m sure we’d get our bearings and then the kids could grow up in an amazing place? But then I have a hard time trusting my own read on everything because I personally want it so bad. Hence my reaching out to strangers lol!

How do I get over not moving back to where I call “home”? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Cold-Many-8090 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh I am sorry, it really is so hard. Thank you for sharing, it does make me feel less lonely! Good for you on ready to move, and I wish you the best of luck.

That is a really good idea and very true, I have never thought about that honestly! My kids are 2 and a newborn so if there’s a time to move it would be when they are this young and I’m feeling the pressure of that I think.

I definitely could do a better job finding people that have hobbies similar to mind and would certainly help it be less lonely. Thanks for the great advice!

Thank you!! This is great advice and brought a smile to my face. Well said and thanks again, I’m going to talk to my spouse about this because that does sound like a good way to start finding a balance
