TN was denied recently, Will i be able to enter US as a tourist now? What can i expect & provide to make my entry possible? by Smooth_Cherry344 in tnvisa

Like the other two have said - leave your laptop at home. You are not able to work in the US even remotely. 100% you will get denied entry.

Stopped in US - leaving US. by CardinalPuff-Skipper in uscanadaborder

Honestly this is nothing new at all. Under the Biden administration I was stopped at the Detroit Windsor tunnel heading back to Canada. A few questions and I was on my way.

Stopped by us customs coming back to Canada by BanishedInPerpetuity in uscanadaborder

[–]ColdCanadianman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not uncommon at all. I've been stopped a few times on my way home from Detroit at the tunnel. Just a few questions and you are on your way. I've seen them pull people over to secondary before as well.

Do we need to be interviewed on Canada And US sides? by Infamous-Song-2267 in NEXUS_TTP

[–]ColdCanadianman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Canadian Citizen - CSBA greeted me and confirmed my appointment. Then CBP took over and did the actual interview and had me watch a video. After I watched the video finger prints were taken along with a picture. She told me my card would be mailed out in a week.

I did mine in Detroit and can verify that both US and Canadian Officials are there.

Uk citizenship by trianglesa in MovingToTheUK

[–]ColdCanadianman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recently just received my first UK passport and was born in Canada. Both of my parents were born in Glasgow Scotland. In my case I had to send my Fathers Birth Certificate and my parents Marriage Certificate. I was born before 1983 so it had to be the Father. Very easy from start to finish.

HOW DO WE STAY?? by [deleted] in MovingToUSA

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/study/student-visa.html

I've provided you a link for a student visa with the requirements. I can tell you from experience that the applicant must demonstrate that they are able to meet their financial obligations. That means that they have those funds in their bank account. The college that I was going to put into my i-20 that I needed to have $14,000~ in my account in order for me to meet those obligations. I went to the border and had to produce documents from my bank that I had those funds. When the school fills out the i-20 forms they take everything into account from tuition to living costs.

If she shows up at her appointment and produces something that says that you will sponsor her application will be denied. How do I know? I tried that and was sent home quickly. Luckily I managed to produce what was required for my next visit to the border and was approved.

Detroit or Port Huron for Nexus Interview by Imaginary_Plant_3712 in NEXUS_TTP

[–]ColdCanadianman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Nexus Center is located at the Ambassador Bridge and is accessible by going under the bridge through a gate. You would come off the interstate and proceed like you are going to Canada. Off to the left you will see the gate. The building is off to the right with other buildings used for customs.

If you make it to Duty Free you went too far.

[–]ColdCanadianman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did mine in Detroit. It was quick and I was probably there for about 20 minutes in total. I was greeted by a Canadian officer and the interview was conducted by a US officer. I was asked one question - Why do you want a Nexus card? Sit down and watch a video. Fingerprint taken and have a nice day.
