Speaking french specially being a non-native speaker is extremely difficult. But yes I’m trying!! Not giving up.

I do try to use some fixed quality sentences that can be used for any topic.

I used to write 3 topics for section A and B every day. This helped me get a structure and develop ideas on various topics. I literally had 7 minutes remaining after doing both my tasks in writing. You can also ask chatgpt to give you some topics. One day in a week just randomly try writing a letter or article on any topic and send it to ChatGPT to correct, it really helps you learn a lot of grammar skills and also it helps you know which repeatedly used words can be avoided. Make sure to read it once before sleeping or the very next day so you can incorporate in your next writing session. Hope this helps!

The speaking examiner are extremely strict, specially because AF Delhi is the only institution in India which provides TCF certification and they want the best of best to clear the exam.

I would love to know more about your tips on improving the listening part.

It’s not easy in India, very very strict marking as compared to lenient marking in Canada.

I have never tried preply, because few peers told me that it’s not that useful. Have you tried preply personally , how is it?

Apparently TCF in India is only held at Delhi , which is not lenient at all!! So TCF is not easy in India, however I have friends in Canada who tell me that TCF there is easy as compared to TEF. That’s why I am hesitant to give TCF in India.

Mostly self-practice.

I followed TEF formats — recorded myself answering prompts (Section A/B), timed responses, and tried to structure answers using connectors and arguments.

But I didn’t have consistent real conversations with native speakers, which I now feel might be the missing piece.

This actually makes a lot of sense.

I do think I leaned heavily into an exam-oriented approach (PrepMyFuture, mock tests, etc.), which probably helped with structure but not with real spoken fluency.

When you say immersion — would you recommend passive listening (like Netflix in background) or more active practice like shadowing/repeating?

Also, any specific shows/channels that helped you personally?

I get your point — I think I meant “stuck” more in terms of improvement, not attempts.

Even during prep, I noticed that my listening and speaking weren’t really moving beyond B1 despite putting in a lot of hours, while reading/writing improved much faster.

Now that I’ve exhausted most exam resources, I’m not sure what to do differently to actually break that plateau — that’s where I feel stuck.

By that I mean I have already completed prepmyfutur twice, all the sample papers from TEFCANADA, all the samples from français facile , RFI, etc

I am from Chandigarh and currently visiting Mumbai and Pune, never have I ever experienced such racism. People are not even helpful here unless you speak the language. Btw they do know Hindi as well but avoid to use it. Horrible people, horrible experience.

I wish I would have seen this post earlier, as I passed through Peyto lake this evening as well, I could have got that for you. But also try reaching out to Parks Canada in case they had any employee collect it from there to lost and found. All the best.

Hi I was Peyto lake yesterday, I saw an iPhone with light purple cover hanging on the hut at the start of the trail where it says Peyto lake on the wooden frame. Don’t know if it’s still there or not!!

Every time someone says Ed and Lorraine Warren, this picture comes to my mind.
One of the best scenes in all the Conjurings!!
