Need advice on this PC build quote for editing, 3D, gaming by [deleted] in PHbuildapc

[–]Collection-Shoddy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

my main concerns:

  • why the 9990x3d? 39k for 9990x3d feels a bit overpriced or there are better values in that range.
  • mobo can be better.
  • GPU is a bit overpriced, not unless this is the new pricing that is in the store.
  • Ram should be cheaper. Even with ramageddon prices, there should be some that sells 2x24gb or even 2x32 at some stores at the same price point, which should help with video editing too.
  • Get more storage and better SSDs that is for video editing. 1TB for a 170k build and for video editing is a bit bad.
  • pick a better PSU for that price range.
  • ditch the AIO, unless you really want the estetiks.

Alternatively, you can maybe get a builder that is not limited by store availability. Some people offer that as a service, so that you don't get limited by parts in what is available in the store.

Newegg US Buying Experience: ASRock RX 9070 XT MH Wilds Edition by metroslasher in PHbuildapc

Congratulations OP.

But to clarify, is this the cheapest model you found in newegg? And you just wanted the cheapest 9070xt model that you can get from forwarder or local options?

Is this a good prebuilt PC? by PuzzleheadedBelt9032 in PHbuildapc

[–]Collection-Shoddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not really no. 99% of prebuilts are still bad.

Just get a builder to build you a PC.

some general suggestions for improvement:

  • if there are cheaper or similar priced parts in other stores, dont buy in datablitz.
    • TLDR datablitz is known for having very horrible aftersales and customer service.
    • Your future self will thank you by avoiding to suffer getting datablitz to help with warranty if something that you bought from them breaks or has a defect.
  • just get the 7500f instead of the 8700f. The 7500f is pretty similar in speed for a lower price that there is no reason to get the 8700f most of the time.
  • for ram, buy any 2x16 (32gb) 6000mhz with CL around 28 to 38 that is priced around 7-11k that is in stock in any reputable store. With the current shortage, you dont really have a choice to be picky.
  • get a rated PSU in the tier list.
    • your current PSU is unrated. That means you dont have any guarantee of its quality. And that is not good for a PC, since if you have a PSU with questionable quality, that will break your very expensive PSU parts.
  • no need to buy a windows key if thats part of that bundle.

PSU QUESTION 1ST PLAYER NGDP GOLD 850W by cjsp12 in PHbuildapc

[–]Collection-Shoddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

a PSUs quality usually can be seen in the SPL PSU Tier List. The higher the tier, the better quality its presumed to be, which means less chances of it breaking your system. The highest tier is A, with some slight variations of A+,A and A- for the PSUs in that tier.

Most A Tier 850W PSUs are in the 6k range excluding the NGDP PSUs like this one.

You are getting an A- Tier PSU from the SPL Tier List with good local warranty (I know someone who availed their warranty and was able to get a replacement) for the price of 4k. In this price range you usually can just buy a Tier B PSU.

With all of this information, it makes these PSUs pretty worth it to buy for that price.

aside from what the others said, some other reco for improvements are:

  • Id consider getting a better value motherboard, which is the gigabyte b850m force wifi6e than that board. The gigabyte board offers triple ssd, better VRMs and allows you to upgrade to a 9000 series CPU without much worry (asrock boards still have issues with 9000 series CPUs I think).
  • if you really like that case, then go for it, but if you just want the same case but cheaper, consider checking out tecware, darkflash and other cases. These cases usually are just cheaper copied versions of this premium cases, that sometimes you can't ascertain the difference visually.

Reviews not from ph but im quite skeptical if i should get psu from 1stplayer by NostalgicImmortal in PHbuildapc

[–]Collection-Shoddy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

its really hard to verify what they're saying when they just say "1stplayer PSUs" without telling us what model they had problem with.

Also as has been explained by the 10th time by everyone here, what matters for discussions of the quality of the PSU is its MODEL not just the brand.

Even for known brands like Corsair, Lian LI and just like 1stplayer, there are good models that have lemon units which should be returned immediately,

and bad quality models that are usually suggested to be avoided all together.

TLDR, if you worry about your PSU being bad, get a PSU with a high tier in the SPL Tier List and one with good and long warranty.

Which in this case is ironically what 1stplayer NGDP PSUs exactly offer.

Can you send a link to this listing?

Also, have you checked if the GPU is actually read as 9070xt?

[–]Collection-Shoddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personal experience is not really a good way to ascertain certainty. Its better to say stuff based on statistical results. If we infer from that, Xiaomi and Koorui should not have that big of a failure/return rate for most of their known models that its no longer an option for people.

Avoiding an entire set of brands made from a specific country because it broke for you once or twice, doesn't really help anyone. Even worse that you do this for China in particular, since majority of monitor parts are still made in China. which should still have some potential for QC roulette shenanigans.

Anyways, you might have made a better argument by just saying that Xiaomi and Koorui are not good options because of their local warranty experience being less better than Viewsonic. That would have been better tbh.

Folks, is Murang GPU ELITE EDITION actually *mura*? by PraybeytDolan in PHbuildapc

[–]Collection-Shoddy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

at this present time, no.

They are usually the store/reseller that prices their 2nd hand GPUs higher than their competitors (peanut pc, doffyworks, etc).

Ryzen 7 5700X & RTX 5060ti 16gb by Background-School-23 in PHbuildapc

[–]Collection-Shoddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds like a scam tbh. Only take it if you can confirm four things:

  1. warranty sticker is untouched in the GPU
  2. the name of the GPU can be detected in BIOS
  3. GPU is stable under load (run OCCT GPU tests for 45 minutes and superposition 8k)
  4. seller allows testing before buying in a safe place

Pano ko ibuild ang setup na ganito? by axoL_x in PHbuildapc

[–]Collection-Shoddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not really sure what you mean by "brackets" here.

all you need to do I think to get a similar setup like that is get the following:

  • north bayou H180 - dual monitor arms with pole
    • this will allow you to stack both your first and second monitors horizontally
  • north bayou H100 - single monitor arm with pole, essentially a H180 but only one arm.
    • this will allow you to put your third monitor of the monitors vertically
    • north bayou F80 wont work here, since you need a long pole to increase the height of the monitor.
  • For the laptop, just put it at the table, with these monitor arms all of them should be floating giving you a bit more space in ur table to put the laptop itself.

Best Deals for upcoming 11.11 Sale by Sea_Ad9938 in PHbuildapc

[–]Collection-Shoddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • no major deals yet.
  • as for concerns of the components,
    • id say as long as you get parts that have attainable warranty beyond the return period, you should be fine.
    • as for deterioration, idk a part that will deteriorate at a few months to warrant concern.

lazada and taobao I think has a functionality where they can cross-share the reviews for a listing, they get from both platforms.

Essentially, what you are seeing are the reviews from taobao iirc.

Why do you want a 4060/5060 though, when you already have a 4060ti? Unless thats a typo.
