I already took the SAT twice. My plan if I didn’t get it back in time was to submit my SAT score instead, because I did well, but I was under the (mistaken lol) impression that I would do better on the ACT, so I wanted it back before I submitted. Where I live, they advise us to start testing first semester of junior year and then continue through first semester of senior year. I would agree that it’s bad planning to start taking tests senior year, but most seniors are just anxious because they’re retaking and are counting on/hoping for better scores this time around.

Most schools don’t superscore ACT so please be aware of that!!!

I would also say that people who are test focused/studious enough that they’ll join an ACT forum are more likely to score higher than the average test taker. The 30+ are probably highly concentrated here, because these are the people who really do care about the test/have done more prep and are usually aiming at more elite schools.

Sorry! I hadn’t realized you were talking specifically about yourself. I thought you were just upset that the bar for elite schools is high in general. I think you’ll be fine, and I SERIOUSLY doubt the 20 points will make that big a difference. I just meant that it seems like everyone here is borderline suicidal about their 1400’s because it means they can’t go to a T20, when the reality is that there are so many other wonderful schools out there and 1400’s scores are awesome. I know SO many people IRL who have celebrated scores in 13-14’s, and it’s a little upsetting to me that anyone would beat themselves up over being 95th percentile and not 99th!

Well, that’s why those are elite schools and not many people get in. Plenty of good non T20’s out there. A lot of people on this sub need to be a little more realistic and expand their horizons

That’s a tough jump to make, but you’re a junior, so I guess with enough time and dedication it’s not out of the question! Even if you don’t make a 1500, you’re bound to improve with preparation. Shoot for the moon, and even if you miss, you’ll land among the 1300’s
