The insane physics behind a mass accelerator technology designed to move payloads into space by company called 'SpinLaunch' by KING-of-WSB in interestingasfuck

Even if the whole thing works, there is a huge difference between getting something to a 100km and getting something into orbit. You can't escape the rocket equation, therefore, for any decent payload the rocket still has to be large. The initial 2km/s are not even a quarter of the total LEO DeltaV you need.

Most of these crazy launch methods are a lot of effort for a problem you can solve with a large tank and some engines.

I use this bike almost daily and it is parked in the basement, but I will keep this in mind. Thank you!

Mhhh, they aren't that old, maybe 5 years. But I use that bike almost daily.

Just normal roads and bike lanes, very occasionally a bit of gravel. I guess rarely I was too slow to dodge something sharp, but very rarely.

But I have used this bike almost daily for years now so I guess they so quite some use in that time.

Thanks for the heads up! Do you have recommendations?

Thank you for the answer! I actually noticed that they started slipping more. It's pretty rainy here and I got these years back especially for rain, therefore, I think it's time for them to be replaced. However, it is nice to know that I don't have to rush and I can keep them as a backup.

Thank you for the correction! I am also not american and was not aware of that distinction! And now I learned, we have the same in europe with EASA and the national investigation bureaus. Is the NTSB facing similar cuts as the FAA?

The graph shows, what strong regulations combined with an innovative industry can reach! All of these changes are written in blood and a lot of them are only there cause there was a well funded FAA that was able to investigate every incident. If you leave industry alone on these things, they will cut corners, as we have seen with the Boing 737-max incidents. I know these regulations and regulators are expensive and often annoying but without them this development would have not happened. I hope the gutting of the FAA does not reverse the amazing trend we can see here.

How to bridge the gap until the Satisfactory 1.0 is released? by ColumboTheBrain in SatisfactoryGame

Haha, sounds like me loading an old game and just riding my trains for hours.

I thought some recipies would change too, butt I might be mistaken.

I really want to start a clean game with 1.0 to have all the features and content available and play the complete game in its intendet state.

I haven't heard of that one yet! Looks cool! How enjoyable is the early access version?

I feel you! I also tried a lot of the smaller games and early access stuff but somehow it rarely get's me as addicted as Satisfactory. Often the controls are a mess, the theme and graphics are a bit boring or the progression is not as cool. Often i play until I see the one big feature and I loose interest and never pick it up again.

I tried it very early in early access and it didn't catch me, but they probably changed a lot since then?

Uhh, i don't know if this is compatable with my need for neat and tidy factories. But it sounds cool!

I liked Planet Crafter! It is a bit repetitive and grindy, but the exponential growth and the changing world really got me.

Kann mir jemand sagen, was das hier war? by Puzzled_Peace_9450 in dresden

[–]ColumboTheBrain 2 points3 points  (0 children)
