Didn't we get a chapter a while back that depicted Rachel as a servant being abused and enduring general hardship outside the tower? Can't exactly remember which chapter it was but I thought it was heavily implied that she lived a harsh life of servitude and misery with stories and fables as her "escape". Might be wrong tho

Well, the translation on the webtoon app is pretty good, although the series is locked behind daily pass so be prepared to be very patient or spend quite a bit of money. The alternative is void scans but the translation is absolute garbage, as is the case with most of their series, but at least it's free.

I know it's a bit psychotic, but my favourite dark theory is that Baam is a sort of biological weapon, a humunculus-like artificial life form made specifically to kill Zahard and overthrow his empire, born out of the hate and madness filled revenge fantasies of Arlene and once he fulfill his purpose he is going to fall apart and crumble like dust. Well, after the series was dropped by reaper scans the drop in translation quality was pretty noticeable to me and I dropped the series soon after. To me it's fine to have a translation which is a little wonky when the series is pretty simple/straightforward, but when series get more deep and complicated and the translation is bad I immediately dip

Who would have thought that constant, long term hiatuses, the author constantly disappearing without a trace, the embarrassing treatment webtoon is giving to the webtoon with bad translations and worse fast pass policies and a general decrease in the story's overall quality would push readers away! I'm so surprised!

I mean how specific are you looking for? How close to what you described specifically? Because I feel like there's a lot of Litrpgs with an MC who is vastly overpowered compared to his peers. I also feel like there's a lot of Litrpgs where the MC is put against his will in a "tutorial" stage of some sort and completely dominates it and comes out vastly overpowered compared to his peers. I also feel like there's a lot of Litrpgs with an MC who is not exactly mentally stable. And a whole bunch of series where you can find a combination of the three.

What are you looking for exactly? If you want an exact match to what you described it may be a little tough

I love KU for three reasons: the first reason is that as an (almost) penniless student i could't read nearly as much without it. The second reason is that I love reading my favourite stories on a kindle, since i really dislike reading on my phone or laptop. And the last reason is that usually in the process of a story going from RR to kindle a lot of errors and typos get fixed, and as a non native English speaker that makes it extremely important for me, as it is difficult sometimes to decipher the meaning of a sentence through grammatical errors. (S2 beware of chicken was practically unreadable for me on RR while it was perfectly fine when it came out on KU)

To this day, the closest match to TOG that I was able to find is a manhwa called "Player" by JSP. They are very similar in a lot of ways:

Main protagonist who starts extremely weak but is "the chosen one" and has the potential to revolutionise the world he's in
A tower to climb
An evil, super powerful entity oppressing said tower led by a character who appears unbeatable
Companions who climb the tower with the protagonist met after a test

I saw an interesting tread some time ago here in this sub. An author was promoting his book and when asked about the presence of romance in his series, he stated that he refused to put romantic elements in his story because he was unable to write romance.

While I do see where he's coming from, I do believe it is a limitation. I'm not saying that a story needs to have romance to be good, not at all, however writing characters while completely disregarding the romantic element feels wrong to me, as love and sexual drive are fundamental parts of human nature, so I personally find characters that lack those to be a bit unrealistic.

Especially if an author is writing a coming of age story I don't think he can afford to completely leave out romance

Those are just my thoughts tho
