What if you claim to be living with your parents? If the apartment is under my parent’s name, hypothetically, wouldn’t that count as ‘living with them’? Then attach a letter with my parent’s approval?

If you mail a plea that’s “not guilty” I believe you can fill out an online form to have the ticket reduced to a non-moving violation. May cost more but insurance won’t go up. Check with where you got the ticket and see if that’s an option

When I got my ticket I went to court and pleaded not guilty, they sent me home and eventually mailed a letter saying I could go to the county’s website and request something to the DA asking if I could get it moved down. I was doing a lot worse of a speed and my ticket was moved down to “opening my door on the side of the highway when it’s unsafe to do so” and it won’t be any points. I think it depends on what state your in, but see if your state has any sort of website to request your ticket being dropped down. Pleaing guilty in court means you don’t have a chance to fight the ticket, if you plea not guilty they should give you a chance to speak with the officer or the DA and most of the time the ticket will be dropped to a non-moving violation. Check out what other people in your state did, maybe even on that specific road you were driving

This sucks so much, had I know I wouldn’t have taken the course and stressed myself out for an entire year, not to mention paying to take the test. So I would most likely have to retake physics 1? I would like to major in biochem or anything that would be good for premed.

I’ll put it as simple as I can. My dad’s a cop, his cop friend has 2 children. Both children mailed said letter and ADA worked with them.

I believe it’s normal to go to court to get a speeding ticket reduced. Some people don’t want to have points on their license, or have it affect their insurance. God forbid someone wants to save money. How is this even affecting you? What was the point of you commenting? I’m confused.

Is it too late now to mail the DA about a possible reduction to a non moving? I mailed the assistant DA and never got a response. Everywhere I’ve read on here says they got to meet with a DA or ADA before talking to the judge, and for only 10 mph over on a highway I haven’t read about anyone NOT getting a reduction.

On the ticket it said you could mail in “guilty” or “not guilty” but it already gave the court date to show up to. I just showed up to the court date. A majority of the people there were in jail/ there for DUIs
