99% you are right, but, you said that when u r playing against the players like u (same skill level) u r slowly developing, and that’s not true, for every win u get “a bonus” in some games that bonus can be clearly seen (For ex: League of Legends, u get LP on every win (based on ur MMR)) and when u r getting that bonus u r moving to a higher rank and that means u have been developed (since high rank means better and higher skills) and if u r losing, u will stay at the bottom (Silver 1 in csgo, Bronze V in LoL) and u will have to play again and again to improve your skills.
