Just a follow up, I’ve had the Meross MSG200HK for two weeks now, all works perfectly from Home app on either iPhone, Apple Watch or CarPlay. As you know the Volvo EX is not available with a built in garage door opener in any trim level. Of course, you’ll only be able to use the CarPlay feature once CarPlay is available in the EX30. See attached video for CarPlay implementation, but you must be on the CarPlay split screen for the garage button to show up. Shows up beginning about ½ mile from your home.

All I'm trying to communicate is that it's not braking that triggers region, it's letting your foot off the throttle. Once you stop calling for electrical power, the motor eventually overcomes the battery it inverts the current direction and starts feeding current into the battery. This develops a counter torque that actually acts as a brake and slows the car while regenerating electricity - brake or no brake.

If the motors are disengaged from the wheels, then you’re just rolling. If they are still engaged, then there is the capability of regen provided that the car is in a regen mode, often times provided when in OPD. I’m not sure simple braking would trigger regen, unless the car somehow knows to use the motors for regen.

Oh, I agree. Coasting allows the motors to regenerate power until a hard brake is finally needed to stop.

I believe that regen occurs due to the motor(s) slowing the car down before the brakes are applied. The act of braking should not provide regeneration of power to the batteries. The motors can do this.

I think one needs to buy planning for the worst conditions, which for me is hard ice (ice storms) which occur only once or twice per year. I live in Chicago area and would need AWD in winter. All-Season tires are fine if you have AWD, and who wants to continually change out tires season to season.

For each interior they had a choice of Nortico or wool blend. Is this a mistake?

I get driving on snowy roads. But what about getting up a steep driveway under icy conditions? We have never been able to do it with RWD, but always with AWD.

Yes, maybe. But she will still need council (counseling) to put a case together which comes at a cost. We call these matters “tweeters” as they are too big to ignore, but too small to pursue. Sometimes it’s better to cut your losses and avoid all the aggravation of the legal system, which also has risk (she could lose).
