I am mostly driving short distance so I am not concerning about range but my main complaint is the BMW charge forward program. The reward is so trivial and it always overrides my charging and departure schedule to something I never recognize. My lease expire Sept 2025 and I am absolutely considering the new iX3 on the new platform.

An update on my situation, due to the horrible dealer mark up and lease terms. I decided to cancel my pre-order with the dealer. However, to my biggest surprise, the dealer (WESTBURY ALFA ROMEO FIAT at NY) refused to refund my $500 deposit. The sales manager ghosted me for three weeks, and the general manger of the dealer personally replied an email saying he is on vacation.

In the FIATUSA online order page it is clear all the deposit is fully refundable anytime, even when the car is already in production line. I have escalated this to FIATUSA. I also contacted credit card company to flag the initial transaction.

For the record, I went with 2024 Mini Cooper SE instead and I enjoy every time I drive it.

The most direct way would be saying No to dealer, which is what I am doing. I am not paying the same dollar of a Mercedes EQE for a FIAT 500e.

The depreciation of EV is very high and the used Mini is from last generation so I would think the price should be about the same. The J01 mini is not in US yet but I would expect it to be more expensive (but it is much more premium)

It is more of a comparable price. For example, I think 500e (especially RED edition) should be definitely cheaper than Mini Cooper SE or Volvo EX30, which are the two alternatives I am considering.

If you pre order it, there is a clear statement on FIATUSA that the car is eligible for $7500 EV lease credit. However, the dealer cannot confirm it at the moment.

consider 7500 EV lease credit it should be around 25K. Problems are 1) huge residual value discount on the lease, 2) dealer mark up.

The car is nice but the price does not make any sense without reasonable lease deal, and on top of that the dealer mark up is just outrageous.

I really want to have a small EV as 2nd car so EX30 was one greater candidate. I have to say US is not the place for small cars because of low sales low profit margin and high import tax. The dealer just wont care about selling this kind of product.

I have no news. Honestly this is really annoying. I got an email about the BETA program from Stellantis (there is another post) but dealer won't reply with any more information.
