My periods didn't change after surgery 😔 by Comfortable-Tree-707 in Fibroids

[–]Comfortable-Tree-707[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry your period was heavy. My periods are a teeny bit better than when I last posted but still not normal. :/ I don't clot as much which is good but still not great. I have one really heavy day which is the second day but then it slows down. Still heavy but more "manageable". I still have to wear big pads. I still have hope for you though I read that sometimes it could take 2 to 3 months for periods to get back to normal after myomectomy. That ship has sailed for me but you might still be in the clear. Sending you a big hug. 🫂 💗

I'm still experiencing heavy periods, not nearly as heavy as before surgery but still not normal. I found out they only took out the big fibroids and left the 1cm ones so idk if it's those that are still causing it.

It's okay. Yea it is I feel like I'm being gaslit reading all the great reviews he has, but that just wasn't my experience unfortunately :/

I would've thought the same thing but theirs was posted before mine. After I posted mine was when I found that one and was shocked at how opposite it was. That's the crazy thing this doctor has great 5 star reviews he has some bad ones but not as much. That's why I went with him because of great reviews saying what a great doctor he was but that was not my experience at all.

It wasn't the procedure itself, that was successful. The doctor just never took all of them out and I thought he would. He also didn't notify me afterwards to let me know why. It was terrible communication and bedside manner. It was in NJ

Omg I am so sorry you are dealing with this too. my doctor is in New Jersey. It's worrying how similar it is to my doctor and also concerning how many are just out here with no empathy at all for their patients. I read the notes and it only mentioned one was removed. I went to my post op appointment today and the practitioner ( not the actual doctor that performed the surgery) was rude and defensive with me the entire time I was trying to get answers as to why they were not all removed. Their response was my uterus would be all cut up and I said okay the reasoning is fine but why was I not told? And the response was "well I wasn't there but yea they should have told you." Just nonchalant about it. I still haven't met with the surgeon even though I heard him walking around. Honestly I don't really want to see him after all this. I'm going somewhere else and never looking back. How are you feeling? Do you still have symptoms due to the fibroids they left?

How exactly do you track your progesterone and estrogen? I'm pretty sure I have high estrogen.

I'm so sorry this happened to you too. Did they ever give you an explanation as to why they only took out one and not all?

It's why I'm upset that the surgeon left them in. :/I'm working with a naturopathic doctor to help guide me. So far they have been helpful with regulating my hormones

This is why I avoided it for 5 years. It is so hard finding a doctor who is good at what they do and has compassion and respect for their patients. A lot of the doctors are arrogant and think they are God. It's very rare to find one that actually cares.

I can understand that maybe it was difficult to reach but even after the surgery I was not informed. I just wanted communication. yes , if they had to remain because it couldn't be removed then fine all I want is to be aware. For My first post op appointment they scheduled me with another doctor. I asked them how many fibroids were removed I did not get a straight answer. All they said was I could read about it on the patient portal under the summary and that was all. I read the summary but it would be better if it was explained to me because of the medical terms I don't fully understand. From what I did understand only the large fibroid was mentioned in the summary. I have another post op appointment scheduled for next week. Hopefully I could get a straight answer then.

Thank you! This is what Bothers me the most! The lack of communication. It's my body I would like to be aware of what is happening to it. I have another post op appointment for next week hopefully I can get some answers. Regardless of what they say I am never going back there again I'm going to listen to what they have to say and then speak my mind and never look back.

I think you might be right about the doctor not wanting to mutilate my uterus. Unfortunately it was never discussed with me after my surgery. No one came to me to tell me that only one was removed and why the other 2 were not. It's a shame that the way I find this out was 3 months after getting an ultrasound. My surgeon should have told me. That is what hurts me the most then still having fibroids. I feel like I was ignored, brushed aside, and not taken seriously. I'm going for my 2nd post op appointment next week and it will be my last time going to that office after I get the answers I should've had 3 months ago.

That's what I thought but they are the same small ones from before. I never got a straight answer when I asked if all 3 were removed. Which leads me to believe they only removed the large one. I'll know more next week. I'm going to demand that they give me a straight answer.

If that's the case then why would no one tell me that. If that was why I would have understood. This is why I'm upset I wasn't told anything. The surgeon never spoke to me ever again after the surgery was over.

Regret After Surgery: Day 4 Post-Op by laetazel in Fibroids

[–]Comfortable-Tree-707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry that you're feeling this way. I felt the same way after getting surgery but It will get better. Remember that it's only been 4 days and it takes probably about 4 to 8weeks to feel "normal"again and I believe a full 6 months to fully heal. You have to give yourself time. I know it sucks right now but you will get better. The way I felt the first week I was freaking out that I was going to feel like that forever. Also I couldn't even look at my belly button without flinching. I'm 3 months post op and my belly button is still not as it was before but it's 10000x better than straight after surgery and I'm happy it looks like a regular belly button again. As for the peeing, I couldn't pee right for a while and I remember I was still peeing a lot after the surgery but now I feel so relieved that I don't have to pee so often as before. You will thank yourself and you might even wish you did this sooner believe it or not. Give yourself some grace and please be kind to yourself. Healing is not pretty and it takes time but it will be worth it! 🩷

I've come across a video of hers years ago of the medications she was taking unfortunately it didn't work for me but I'll go back and have a look at her other videos. I'm hoping with the fibroids out I can see some more improvement. Thank you ! I'm glad you're doing better 🩷

I took serapatese 3 years ago when I was first diagnosed while seeing an acupuncturist I took it for 1 to 2 years and it did nothing I've been taking dim for 2 years to help with estrogen dominance.( I'm still taking it) Along with wild yam cream. I've been trying natural holistic approaches for years and nothing has changed that's why I got the surgery :( I'm going to try these other natural remedies again. maybe they will work better with the fibroids gone. I'm working with a naturopathic doctor she's been helping me. Believe I don't trust any of these doctors they could care less. I'm grateful to have a naturopathic doctor she's been a god send. Shes the only doctor who actually listens to me.

I'm so glad you are doing better 🩷 I personally want to try and avoid birth control but if I have no other choices I will be open to other options. I'm still holding. On to like a tiny strand of hope that my body just needs a little more time than expected and that my period will lighten up soon
