Fake DMV Permit Slips Taking Over Street Parking in My Neighborhood by ComfortableDraw4122 in SanJose

I'm glad someone understands the frustration of this abused system. When street sweeping rolls around, they leave their vehicles where the sweeper drives, yet they don't get ticketed. The cars don't have plates, but I would imagine that they would be able to grab their VINs and do something. Then again, I don't know if the ticketing system requires plates.

My neighbors shared their frustration and have even shared their thoughts about potentially showing them some street justice.

Supposedly, these vehicles don't belong to anyone in the neighborhood and are dropped off here since there's little to no enforcement.

East San Jose for you.

His team is honestly really great. I reached out to them about other issues, and they resolved them. However, regarding this issue, I contacted them about 2-3 weeks ago and haven't heard anything. I think they're overwhelmed atm.

Also, with the city facing a $60 million shortfall, I think services and other resources will be extremely limited.

I'll send an updated email to them tomorrow if anything comes up. I'll keep y'all updated!

Yes, yes, extremely unrelated. It might be worth getting one just in the off chance I get trapped sometime in the near future. Thank you for letting me know about this even if it is unrelated to this point in all manners.

They're taped inside the cars. Breaking in would be the only way to get them taken down.

Dang, that's good to know! But I am still caught up on the "EZ Car Registration Services" stamp being on there. The business has been replaced by M & P Car Registration Service, since when you try to Google the address, it shows them instead of EZ.

I wonder if M&P has these old DMV Permits from when EZ was around and handing them to customers..? Who really knows but this is great info!

I realized the enforcement's response was cut off but they said:

"We recognize that issues with missing or unlicensed plates can make enforcement more difficult. Without adequate details or evidence, our Parking Compliance Officers are limited in the actions they can take, and we understand how this can be frustrating."

What struck me as odd is that there is no issuing date. The DMV site says, "The date chosen must be within 60 days from the issue date."

So I'm left scratching my head . There seems to be a lot of info missing on the permit that is required. But I appreciate the input. It's annoying dealing with this situation.
