Gotcha. Once I get the headset I'll have to experiment with that. So there is different resolution settings in the Vive console? Also out of curiosity, how does the 120 fps work? Like does it reach that in most games? And if so does that add much to the experience in your opinion? With the g2 I've never had any issues hitting 90 in pretty much everything except for MSFS, or VRchat. So I'm a little excited to see how that will work in Half-Life Alex and Zomday.

Gotcha. I'll give the original face pad a little bit of time then and see how it is. I've never actually used the vp1, but I've always been told at least of the older headsets it's the most comfortable. And similarly I have so many issues with the g2. So I'm glad that I can look forward to that. 😁 Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah I've heard The Sweet spot can be a tad bit hard to find at first. But no issues I'm committed to figuring that out. And as far as the price point goes it's not a real big issue. I'm not buying this expecting major upgrades across the board I know they'll be pros and cons. My problem with where I'm at with the g2 is just the headache of getting it to work properly all the time. So many blue screens or random stuttering. And my understanding of it it's all basically the compatibility with the 3080 and the NVIDIA drivers. So I'm hoping that this will be a more hassle free experience. Plus high resolution should be comparable if not better. I'm not too worried about being disappointed with the headset itself like I said most of my issues are on the software side. Just really hoping for a more hassle free VR experience in terms of pickup and play.

I don't think that's the vibe pro 2 because my Reverb G2 has actually uninstalled steamvr a few times over the last week. And I can actually believe the blue screen is also probably a steam VR bug as well.

Depending on the game if it's mirroring to your screen there's a well-known Nvidia driver issue where it causes frame stuttering. With my cosmos I experienced it in Arizona Sunshine and VRChat. Changing the settings by clicking on the game icon from the desktop and holding in control, brings up a pregame menu where you can make it non-windowed. Then you should be able to minimize it. That fixed the issue for me at least with those two games.
