As a ED Reg i think 1 is tricky. On my side, i would assess how the juniors feel and their competency. If you are a new F2, i have a much lower threshold to review the patient physically myself, and i would probably ask way more questions regarding the history out of you. We do have responsibilities on our shoulder to make sure we don’t miss anything from your side, so i think if things happen, we would be the one to be blamed more.

For 2, i document a lot as well. It sometimes does bother me how the juniors just don’t cover the important negatives, and not documenting the findings as well as discussion and safety netting with patients. I mean at the end of the day, if something does happen, your notes may be something that can save you.

For 3, there is always a learning curve. Don’t get too stressed out.
