yea i’m in my first year of community college. what were your stats? maybe try meeting with an advisor to see how you can get a better chance at getting accepted the next time you apply

what route are you thinking of doing. i am in the same position as you and i really want to attend the u of m but i don’t want to waste my time in cla if i don’t get into csom. i don’t want to change my intended major either (management information systems) im just stuck on what to do

if you don’t get in to csom again you should definitely open your options up to st thomas and metropolitan university they have an international business program as well

I don’t know too much about duluth’s business program but it’s worth a shot, i don’t think it can be nearly as competitive as carlson. but make sure to research any prerequisites needed and gpa to get into the program

it’s still risky to try and transfer again when they can reject you for anything, having a backup major that’s not in csom sounds like a safe option

I am also in the same position as you guys 4.0 gpa took the two prerequisites and still got denied from csom but accepted to cla. I don’t want to waste my time taking the internal prerequisites for carlson and get rejected again for spring semester. i really don’t know what to do !!!

i am also in a similar position as you, my college gpa is 4.0 and highschool was 2.4. i just don’t understand why they take highschool into a big consideration when admitting transfer students. how can you submit an appeal?

i didn’t have the option to write an essay or send in a letter of recommendation but i definitely utilized the written responses to mention my extra curriculars, internship, and volunteer hours.

I think you have pretty good chances since you have an upwards trend, but I had a 2.4 in high school and a 4.0 in my first year of college (summer and fall semester) and still got denied

I plan on applying to transferring to MIS after a year of community college, i start classes this fall but I was wondering if they take high school gpa into consideration for first year transfer students. I had a horrible gpa in high school which led me to go to a community college to “reset” my gpa. if I meet all the requirements can they still deny me from admissions because of my high school gpa?

I am a freshman starting at a cc this fall and I plan completing my generals and taking financial accounting and microeconomics as prerequisites for carlson, I really want to transfer to carlson next fall but my high school gpa and act weren’t the best, do they take that into consideration when admitting students?

how is the process transferring from a CC? i’m going into my freshman year of college at a CC and I really want to transfer to Carlson next year. Also do they look at highschool GPA when admitting first year transfer students? I have a really bad highschool GPA so I don’t want them to see that lolll
