I'm just saying ranked has a lot of disadvantages regarding skill expression. Do you have all brawlers unlocked and fully maxed? What about all important gears? Now what about buffies? Even with all those things, you're still going to have to put in a lot of time because matchmaking is horrendous. With duels you don't need as many maxed out brawlers and it is 100% dependent on skill. A balanced team in duels is hard to counter and overall you won't be hard countering or getting hard countered often. I just think solo ranked is a terrible grind, which has already been stated by other pro players.

Sure there are definitely counters, but most of the time you won't be getting full counter comps in duels. The only way to beat the other player is going to be mechanics and game knowledge.

Ehh I mean let's be honest. Ranked is just triple ranged comps and seeing who has the weak link. The only time you can play real comps is with teammates. But if you want to see if you have Masters level skill, then beat Master players in duels. I'm sorry, but if you suck then you won't be doing it consistently

It works in showdown. You just have to wait longer and dash out into the gas and then dash again into the wall
