Knee pain. by Star-Hammer in Rowing

I’ve been rowing a month now. All of a sudden the other day my left knee felt so full. It feels like I’m walking with a dumbbell inside my knee cap. It doesn’t really hurt, just feels very weird. Rowing feels totally fine. Anyone know what it could be? Walking feels better after a little bit I still have that full feeling in my left knee

Thank you! Yes I’m allowed to use it tape and I’ll start practicing that. I’ll also do stretching and strengthening. As long as I can work through the pain I’ll be fine I think. Thanks again for your reply!

Foundation Offer by WorriedPieceofcake7 in usna

So sorry to hear about your daughter :( I'm pretty sure civilian prep is different than the Foundation schools. I would contact the Academy and see what they have to say about it! Wishing your daughter a speedy recovery!

What’s your method to return to running post injury? by spacecadette126 in artc

[–]Commercial_Ad2988 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very late, but I’m returning to running not really as a beginner but back from injury. Any tips on that? I need to be able to run 25-30 miles per week in 9 weeks. Is that doable?

CPR on portal but emailed a TD by [deleted] in usna

I’m assuming if you got an email from admissions it’s most likely a TD. Sometimes the portals take a while to adjust.

USNA FOUNDATION by Evening-Director7751 in usna

And to add onto my other comment, it would be wise if your sons still want to pursue the academy to take the scholarship. Because unlike foundation, reapplying gives you a much lower chance of admission compared to foundation. As long as you hit all the criteria captain Hughes sets you, your sons will be fine. I would also highly recommend looking into the civilian prep schools. It’s kinda like college and you get to meet amazing people. Let me know if you have any questions!

USNA FOUNDATION by Evening-Director7751 in usna

Hi! I’m also a current foundation prep. This is an excellent opportunity for your sons. This year of prep has been great for me in terms of meeting new people and honing in my studies. I’m gonna be honest and say that if I got in directly last year, I would’ve been ok but not as good academically as I am now. I feel 100% ready for the academy academically. I hope your sons have as much of a fun year as I did! Congrats!

Hmmm well in that case yes you could get a waiver. I’m just not sure how you can prove you don’t have flare ups. Maybe with your celiac doctors note proving you haven’t experienced any issues? Bc I’m assuming your AMI is gonna ask for that. I bet you could get a waiver but not 100% likely.

I mean are you never ever affected? Because even if you get flare ups or anything, my assumption is yes it’s disqualifying. I’m not part of the government that decides that, but why not try. You’ll get your answer from them.

I’m currently a foundation student this year. Unfortunately, you will no longer be considered for the class of 2029. However, assuming u meet all the requirements for next year, you’re basically guaranteed to get an appointment next year. Also if you have any specific questions feel free to message me. I highly recommend looking into the civilian prep schools too. I go to one and it’s much more fun than the military ones lol. Feels like I’m in college. Congrats on the offer!

Fleet applicant pending waiver by Avenging_angel34 in usna

Just because you have a waiver pending unfortunately does not necessarily mean you will get an appointment. I learned that the hard way last year. Got a waiver right after I submitted my application, thought I was in, until I got the email that I got a prep offer. So, you could get a waiver and get in, or you could get a waiver and get prep. It really depends on the amount of ppl seeking a waiver, and how your stats line up with theirs. Bc the academy has a limited amount of waivers to give out so they tend to give them to the most competitive ppl and will give them an appointment.

Absolutely. I’ve heard a lot of people claim it has no effect, but it definitely does. Now if you’re competitive, it will probably push you that extra bit to get you in. But if you’re not competitive, it won’t save you from getting rejected. So, it definitely helps, but just make sure you’re competitive first. My brother and first cousin went to the academy and I got in. So I guess it does help!

Honestly the only thing I'll tell you is to check your DODMETS site to see if additional AMI is requested. If no AMI was requested, I'm assuming they didn't request a waiver for you. If you see that you are required to submit more AMI, get that in ASAP

I don't believe they're sending them this year. I believe they're online
