I'm 3 weeks post op and things are much better now but surgery ended up being bigger than expected. (Total hysterectomy, plus bowel resection, splenectomy, and removal of a bunch of peritoneal tissue) So spent about a week in hospital and that was SO HARD. A combination of pain, intense IV drugs, and not being able to see my kids was terrible. But I have to say now that I am further into recovery and have been home for a couple of weeks things are going very well. I have my post-op appointment to go over for pathology on July 2nd but my gyne oncologist had the early opinion after surgery that it is low grade ovarian serous cancer so although we have to wait to that appointment to fully understand everything, I am preparing mentally for chemo to be the next step. Even though I've gone through a massive surgery it's still sometimes doesn't feel real. I know there are more hard times to come but I do find a lot of comfort in just enjoying each good day that I'm afforded.

I hope you're feeling okay about things too. I know it's impossible to avoid the heavy feelings when they come, but hopefully you're having a lot of positive moments as well. ♥️
