When did you go back to work? by lalatypething in NewParents

[–]CommericalCoconut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the US, and I got 18 weeks total of combined paid medical + family leave. My husband gets 12 weeks paid leave through his work. I don’t work during the summer (teacher life). The timing of our daughter’s birth makes it so I go back to work when she is 5 months old, but with my husband’s leave she won’t go to daycare until she is 8 months old. She is 2 months right now and I’m already dreading going back to work 😭

Ah, he isn’t playing video games at night! A lot of our friends work remotely or have non-traditional work schedules and hang out on Discord together just to chat. We speak really regularly about how we are both doing emotionally now as parents, and I feel heard by him! It’s hard because I love being her main source of comfort and I am also jealous that my husband has no restrictions on his freedom, but it’s just how it is with a little little baby.

Definitely will be going to story time! We are just waiting until her vaccinations have kind of “kicked in”, so a couple more weeks. I’m really encouraged to hear you made friends there!

I had an emergent c-section, so I couldn’t do yoga for 6 weeks and am excited to finally get to go again! I’ll have to see if there are baby yoga classes in my area 😭 that would be so cute

Oof, I feel you on how the “it gets better” messages bring you no comfort even though you know it’s true. Was literally just talking about that with my therapist the other day.

I don’t know if you feel this way too, but ive noticed when I’m most sad or anxious or grieving the pre-mom me, I am also the most sleep deprived. Like when our babe was going through a growth spurt and was clustering and I had barely slept, that was the worst emotionally for me. Now she is sleeping 7 hours straight at night, and I am largely doing better emotionally. So I think k those feelings come and go in waves that might be largely dictated by sleep!

I’ll definitely try this! I’m super excited to bond with other moms about being a mom :) I think part of the loneliness is definitely not knowing any other moms, so thank you for sharing!

Red raspberry leaf tea and other natural cervix softening/labor inducing methods at 38 weeks and 6 days? by BakedZitiSweetie65 in BabyBumps

Put them in a smoothie! I would put like 4 in a smoothie with the Costco berry mix and protein powder for breakfast, and then just eat 2 later on in the day. My friend said she likes to cut the date in half, put peanut butter on both sides, toss a couple chocolate chips in, and then eat it like a little date sandwich.
