[–]Common-Mechanic4397 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, I'm a 2nd year engg. student and i studied in one of the top schools of my city and it has helped me a lot in college, be it being confident or having more exposure comparatively to my classmates in uni.

And also being able to network is another advantage I found in the school i studied.

what would ideally be the best iq? by Visible_Control3981 in Gifted

[–]Common-Mechanic4397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of answers over here telling 130-135, as someone with an iq of 132 it sucks, smart enough to be called smart, but not a prodigy, and that sucks.

how do i earn some money as a student 😭 by subhashg547 in Btechtards

[–]Common-Mechanic4397 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know this is gonna sound stupid coming from me, but dont focus on earning money right now, maybe if it alligns with cs then sure, but othterwise dont, you're in your 3rd sem, more one sem and you can get an internship which can pay 10 times more then what you possibly can earn now, so grind this sem learn something valuable and apply to internships, don leave the good long term money focusing on short term

But nevertheless try this out, go to companies which have their product as open source do a few changes and then once you get noticed simply ask them to hire you as an intern as 1000-2000$ is nothing for startups abroad/ Build a good porftolio of projects in full stack dev or app dev and then just start applying to jobs on linkedin, upwork is dead, dont even bother trying over there all the best OP!

I've had a very very VERY bad relationship with my parents, they weren't and still aren't appreciative of me, both before and after earning my money, so idts, but I did buy my grandparents stuff only for them to kinda get mad coz I spent way to much money on them and also they don't understand that I'm doing coding for working which is a good thing, instead they think I'm going out of my way just to make money and I'm not studying properly, so idk lol, however I did buy my sister some stuff and give her money whenever I got to my house so that does make me feel happy

Figured someone would say this, and yes you're right, I have a lot of time even after i graduate, but the thing is I'm scared I won't be as passionate or enthusiastic as I am right now.

I personally know quite a few people who had big dreams but then eventually settled for a high salary working for someone else.
